Traveling solo, I usually stay low-key, but here, I found myself chatting with locals, joining a sunset fishing trip, and even hanging out with the parrots at reception (yes, they’re adorable!). The room was spacious, spotless, and surprisingly well-equipped—great water pressure, big comfy bed, strong Wi-Fi, and daily housekeeping that rivals big-name resorts. I also loved the rooftop space and the peaceful garden vibe around the pool. The island itself is small and quiet, with a couple of local shops for snacks and essentials, and a calm beach just a few minutes’ walk away. I swam with manta rays on a half-day trip organised by the hotel and watched baby turtles hatch right on the sand. It felt like a dream. But honestly? What makes this place special isn’t just the scenery—it’s the people. The Baa Sand team delivers something you don’t often find anymore: hospitality with heart.
