Where to start! If you are looking for a few nights away from the bustle of Chinese cities and you want to relax and unwind in nature then Suxi Qingshan Forest Homestay is perfect! The hotel is easily accessible from Chengdu. A short 25 minutes train ride from Chengdu to Qingchengshan station and then the hotel staff will arrange to pick you up. As soon as you arrive you will realise what an absolute gem this hotel is! The hotel is nestled amongst the hills with incredible views of the surrounding mountains. This is a luxury hotel with the services and infrastructure to match. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea upon arrival and you also have the possibility to enjoy a hot water jacuzzi, a fitness area, walks around the hotel forest grounds as well as many other experiences proposed by the hotel. The hotel is only 15 mins drive from Dujiangyan Giant Panda Centre and the hotel staff organised transport there and back for us. We would recommend this Panda reserve as it is much quieter than the reserves in Chengdu! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant on both nights of our stay and the food was truly exceptional! We chose the set menu, which took us on a culinary journey through Sichuan. Each plate was refined, delicious and made using fresh ingredients. The breakfast was equally delicious, fresh and healthy. We would like to highlight the kindness and warmth of all the hotel staff. They were always available to answer any questions and organise activities to make our stay magical. The hotel staff were able to communicate with us in both English and French. We stayed at Suxi Homestay looking for a relaxing few days away from cities and we were blown away by the experience! We would have loved to have extended our stay!

The room is OK, with everything you need, and it also has a private bath, which is good for the price. The boss and his family are very enthusiastic and patient, and the service is really good. The breakfast is good, cooked by the boss lady herself, and the seasoning is good. You need to change your shoes when entering the public area and the accommodation area, so the overall situation is very clean. It's right in Jiezi Ancient Town. It's very convenient to visit the ancient town and the night market. The midnight snacks at the night market are very comfortable. The Chinese courtyard is very beautiful and I like it very much. The room is not big but very clean, and the bed is comfortable to sleep on. The boss sister is really super nice. Seeing that we brought children, she specially brought children's toothbrushes and a special children's play area. She raised a parrot. The children liked it and she specially brought the parrot for the children to play with. It's really considerate. I will stay here again in the future.

The accommodation is a two-story small building, a clean room, a large floor-to-ceiling window, and a forest outside with birdsong and rain. In the small courtyard, you can sit by the pool and enjoy tea and eat. The tea shop next to it, the stream flowing through the window. A mountain behind the homestay is almost exclusive to this homestay. I walked up the mountain twice. Except for meeting local mountain people, there were no other tourists. If you want to climb the peak, follow the road outside the door to the mountain, pass the tea garden and campground, and go directly to the peak. The weather is not ideal these days, and the drizzle makes it easy to go up the mountain and slippery. The boss said that he would come at the end of October. The weather was good and the mountains were full of colorful forests. That was the most beautiful time. Because it rained, the mountain was more humid. Fortunately, the room was air-conditioned and the bed was covered with electric blankets. As soon as we arrived, we turned on the electric blanket to dehumidify, and the bed was dry and warm at night. The comments are all praising the boss's roast chicken for its deliciousness, and we also booked it early. The boss went to the mountain folk house in the morning to kill the running chicken, and set up a grill in the yard to roast it. When we walked for two hours, the roast chicken was almost roasted, and it smelled delicious. Sitting in front of the wooden table in the yard, there is a small brazier on the soles of your feet, warmly eating roast chicken and small fried fresh bamboo shoots, and a beer, the leisurely holiday really began.
