The welcome and customer service were outstanding. An example being the item on the menu my wife hoped to have for dinner was sold out and the waitress and chef combined to provide an excellent alternative. would have liked to have a shower facility in the bathroom and the bed mattress was softer than we prefer

I was disappointed with the quality of the accommodation at the Stiffkey Red Lion. I found the level of cleanliness and quality of the room to be below par, and the room clearly was in need of refurbishment. Most notably, the window blinds were ineffective and consequently it was very difficult to sleep, the mattress on the bed was of poor quality and the bathroom was not fitted with a shower.

Lovely accommodation with a balcony which had lovely views. The pub was lovely, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The area is very pretty - nice for a walk after dinner We would definitely recommend this lovely pub

We were checked in by a very polite young man, who later served behind the bar, he was very efficient and could not do enough for us. We did not eat here at night so cannot comment on the food. Breakfast was very tasty, apart from the poached egg and unfortunately this tasted like they had dropped the vinegar bottle into the water, so it did spoil it slightly. Overall the room we had was functional it did require some maintenance on it. There was a wind at night and you could feel it through the balcony door which also had venetian blinds up to it which rattled, they did not close properly so, as soon as it was light (which was as quite early) you were awake, which was ashame because the bed was very comfortable. Hand held shower over bath, not to our taste.

We stayed for a weekend . The food and service can’t be faulted . The breakfast is amazing , and the menu is delicious. We ate here twice over the weekend . One of the best places to eat in the area . A beautiful pub , lovely outdoor seating also . Really disappointed with the rooms tho . Does not match the standard of the pub and food which we both expected . The beds were comfy but the rooms tired and dated , I’d say early 00’s late 90’s. . The bathroom was really poor . Tiles loose around the bath , the tile adhesive everywhere is worn, coming away and mould in places . Rust around the mirror as well . The room itself was just about ok . You could see bubble marks on one of the wall where it had damp and had been painted over to a poor standard . There is a damaged fire exit light that has been fixed with plasters stuck all over the light , where the casing has smashed!! Wow ! How has that been allowed !? . Even the benches outside the rooms have been neglected, and need a few coats of wood protection over them . Overall an amazing place to eat , but unfortunately one of the poorest rooms I’ve stayed in for some time . Such a shame , but it’s in desperate need of some modernisation and basic maintenance. Should have got an air b&b for the price . Will definitely come again for food , but would not recommend staying , which is a real shame.

We stayed one night but were on edge as the bathroom was so awful and the bedroom was tatty. It was like a very cheap motel room. The bathroom was not very clean and bugs kept appearing from the shower. The blinds were broken on the door. This place needs seriously updating and regularly deep cleaned, We would never stay again. We went on to the Rose and Crown at Snettisham and this is a wonderful place, comfy and spotless
