Hofu Grand Hotel

This was my second stay since February of this year, and I stayed in a single room for 6 nights. The hotel is a 5-story building, 15 minutes walk from the south exit (AEON side) of Hofu Station. It will have a banquet hall, restaurant and wedding hall. The elevator is in front of the front desk, the number of rooms is small, and the security level is high. The interior of the hotel is gorgeous, and the greenery and flowers around the entrance (carport) welcome you. The morning cafeteria is currently closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. [Rooms] Guest rooms are located on the 4th and 5th floors, along both sides of the east and west corridors. The single (15㎡, 21 rooms) is on the north side with a view towards Hofu Station, and the twin (31㎡, 8 rooms, renovated) is on the south side with a view of the greenery of Kuwayama Park. There is no safe, there is a wardrobe with a door. Slippers are washed and recycled. Pajamas are one-piece dresses that are fastened with strings. (I brought pajamas and pants) Mineral water is provided in the refrigerator. Wi-Fi (free connection) is fast. [Surroundings] For meals, we used the family restaurant Joyful Hofu Station South branch (open 24 hours), which is a 10-minute walk from the station. (Parking available) Between the south exit of Hofu Station and the hotel, there are Aeon Hofu store, JA direct sales office (morning market), bank, hospital, camera shop Kitamura, convenience store, drug store, and gas station (rental car). To the north is the Hofu Police Station, to the west is the Hofu City Hall, Hofu Summary Court, and the Hofu City Youth Science Museum, and to the south is the well-maintained Kuwayama Park where you can enjoy a walk to the summit (107m above sea level). At Darakuji Temple, located at the eastern foot of Kuwayama Park and on the northwest side of Hofu Prefectural High School, there is the grave of Sugifumi (younger sister of Shoin Yoshida), the main character of the NHK taiga drama "Hanamoyu", and her husband, Motohiko Katori. Natsume Masako, ex-wife of former Naoki Prize-winning author Shizuka Ijuin, is also asleep.
