Hôtel Akena Strasbourg - Hoerdt

We stayed at this hotel for four night in April. It is very reasonably priced with excellent free parking facilities. Our room was clean spacious and comfortable. Good pillows. The only issue for us was that the toilet is separate to the bathroom with no wash basin. The bathroom was large with double wash basins but we feel would have been better placed with the toilet and one wash basin. This is just our opinion but may not bother some. There is a reasonable selection for breakfast where Joelle cannot do enough for you. Hot and cold selection with good pastries. Our initial arrival was very chaotic with the one person on reception being the only member of staff on the premises. He was trying to deal with check in plus serve quite a few people at the bar. You can get snacks at the bar, hot and cold but because of the chaos we ended up getting some sandwiches at a local supermarket. We learnt later in our stay that this is not usual and the staff were very helpful, especially Marie on reception. However, our first morning at breakfast we were greeted by a very bubbly lovely lady called Joelle. She was a delight and very helpful with her knowledge of the area. She told us of a Park & Ride not too far away where we parked the car, went by tram to Strasbourg and then a German city called Kehl. All this for under €5. Joelle’s “baby” at breakfast is a fresh orange juicer. She loved it and so did we. Thanks to all the staff, but both Joelle and Marie deserve a mention. We would certainly use this hotel again. It is good value for money.

Disappointed with the lack of flexibility offered by the hotel management.
