Ukuthula Bush Lodge

We stayed at Ukuthula Lodge for three nights and had a fantastic time. The team at the lodge were very friendly and kind, and Fabian went above and beyond to accommodate any requests we had, even on short notice. Their breakfast options like Eggs Benedict were a great surprise in such a location, and everything was cleaned to a very high standard. The dinners were a bit repetitive so if you are a foodie it might help to rent a car to access some other spots as you can't walk through the bush late at night!

Safari Moon Luxury Bush Lodge

Just had an amazing stay at Safari Moon Luxury Bush Lodge in Hoedspruit! The moment I walked in, I knew we'd made the right call. The staff's warm welcome and the inviting atmosphere instantly made me feel at home. I got to experience two different rooms during my stay - the Leopard Room and then the Full Moon Suite (their presidential suite). Both were gorgeous! The Full Moon Suite was absolutely stunning and really showed what luxury bush living can be. The food was a highlight for sure. Chef Control and Chef Sizwe are doing something special in that kitchen. That gourmet burger Chef Sizwe made when I first arrived? It set the tone for all the delicious meals that followed. Got to give a special shoutout to our waiter Rowan, who was basically the master of everything - always there when we needed something and just made everything run smoothly. Melinda, the front of house manager, was fantastic too. She gave us great recommendations for things to do and places to check out in the area. The lodge itself is beautiful and really well-kept. Everything just feels right - it's luxurious but still has that authentic bush feel. You can tell they put thought into making sure guests are comfortable while keeping the natural surroundings in mind. If you're heading to Hoedspruit and want a memorable bush experience, this place is worth checking out. The staff, the food, the rooms - everything just came together to make our stay special. Quick tips: - Make sure to try both Chef Control and Chef Sizwe's cooking - The Full Moon Suite is worth the splurge if you want something extra special - Ask Melinda for recommendations - she knows her stuff - Take some time to just chill and enjoy the lodge itself Really had a great time here - definitely exceeded what I was expecting! Thank you team, LeloB
Emhosheni River Lodge

It's really our pleasure to stay at such a wonderful place for three nights. The host Dave and Leandra are treating us like family and most importantly, their warming hospitality, sweet considetation, well-knowledged in wildlife and sincere service do leave us unforgetable memory. We have been traveling to many places and staying at so-called luxury hotels, but this stay is absolutely the best we ever experienced. The location is at Great Kruger National Park which is good. If you are lucky, you can see Big Five aroud the lodge. But most of time, you can spot Giraffe, Zebra, Elephant, Hippos, Kudus, baboon and Lions... The food is way to great. We have three dinners at the lodge and I believe it's the best meal in our SA trip. Dave and his team cook for every client and the awesome view just in front of the river is unbelievable. Too good to be true! Strongly recommended and must stay when you visit Kruger NP.
Naledi Game Lodges

If we could give 6 stars for our 3 day stay at Naledi we would! My wife and I visited Naledi for 3 days in January 2025. We were incredibly well taken care of by Marise, Matthew, Lilian, Decide and Chef Dudu throughout our stay. The food was delicious, our room in the Paperbark suite and the entire property is meticulously maintained, and they made incredible efforts to make our trip as enjoyable as possible. They succeeded! The game drives with Oupa and Excellent exceeded every expectation. They are true experts at guiding and tracking the majestic animals in the Balule reserve, and just incredibly lovely gentlemen to spend time with. We saw so much - yes, the Big 5, but also warthogs and hyenas and giraffes and hippos and zebras and impala herds and beautiful birds; sunset and sunrise and a rainbow one morning took our breath away. On our final sundowners, Oupa and Excellent took us by the Olifant River where we enjoyed the sunset and drinks surrounded by hippos and a grazing rhino. Each day felt like a treasure hunt - we gave very little input, allowing Oupa and Excellent to do their thing, and loved every minute. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime trip for my wife and I, as we were visiting South Africa from the US for a friend's wedding. I went back and forth between the more well-known reserves (Sabi Sands, Timbavati) and was unsure what we'd be able to see in the summer season (our visit was in late January) - I'm so glad we chose Naledi and if there's ever an opportunity to visit South Africa again, we will be back!
Unembeza Boutique Lodge & Spa

The complex and the villas/suites are really beautiful and impeccable, with a harmonious interior and attractive design. Unfortunately, communication leaves a lot to be desired. On several occasions we either received no access code for the gate or received an incorrect one, which was very annoying. The general information culture was also unfortunately unsatisfactory. Our first breakfast was in the neighboring lodge, which we were not informed about. Since we needed a few minutes for the detour, we hardly had time to enjoy breakfast. An employee assured us that she would be there in the morning to give us the necessary information and codes - unfortunately she was not there and we were again left without anyone to contact. There were other deficiencies: There were no towels in the room, the WiFi code was also missing and no one was available to clarify these things. In the hope of improvement, I sent the lodge a detailed feedback email, but did not even receive a response. This lack of feedback reflects the inadequate communication and information structure, which unfortunately greatly tarnished the overall impression.
