Safari Moon Luxury Bush Lodge
4.8/530 Reviews
Wow! Staying at the Safari Moon was an amazing experience! It is like staying as an honored guest at a luxurious private home. There are only 7-8 beautiful and large en suite rooms (if that) and we were the only ones during our off-season stay. The staff is exceptional - so polite, so accommodating, so eager-to-please. Our meals were delicious and beautiful, served in a delightful open-air dining room and/or packed to eat on safari. Staff always checked with our 7-year-old before dinner to be sure she had something she wanted to eat. Outstanding bar. We saw Kudu and Warthogs roaming just outside the premises. This is NOT the Four Seasons, so don't expect that, but it is a totally 5-star luxury experience.
Radisson Safari Hotel Hoedspruit

Got the suite for a family Christmas getaway. The establishment is new and I hope on my next visit the teething issues are fixed because this place is a gem, no reason why it couldn't be the regions best hotel. Some of the staff are great, but others don't seem to have ever worked in hospitality. Pros: -Private Pool. -The communal pool areas are well staffed with lots of drinks and food options. -Large bathtub in the suites secluded from the others -The adults only Portuguese bar (Neil The Manager there is top notch). Cons: -The private pools in the suites get overnight bugs, but there are no nets for guests to self clean, say at 5am for an early dip. Please provide each suite a net. - Wife wanted a massage, spa had no spaces, get more staff, it's an isolated hotel, serving many guests, provide guests with more staff and they will pay for services like massage, nails, etc. Other places we stayed even have packages for in room massage. It's a great revenue stream for you and a great experience for the customer. My wife would happily pay for a daily full massage. -They seemed to run out of towels in the rooms, we only had towels for one, which is weird for a high end resort. -Food should be better considering it's isolated, there should be more restaurants with many options, at various price points. It's currently all or nothing at top price. Unfair. -Some main restaurant staff have no emotional intelligence or context that their guests are paying a premium and should be catered to. I saw a parent with a toddler at breakfast be denied a takeaway box for breakfast when they wanted to remove his child from the dining area to avoid the toddlers tantrum from escalating, the staff simply said they had a no takeaway at breakfast policy. Such a travesty for a resort at this price. Staff should have made an exception, and I'm not talking managers, it shouldn't need a manager, it's common sense. -Housekeeping was always left till late in the day, they focused on the bill rooms getting cleaned first so us suite dwellers would need to put up with yesterday's room mess till after 3pm -Houskeeping, if you leave plates out you'll find them outside your door for over 24 hours, I had to call them to say my room service from yesterday afternoon was blocking my entrance, the night after -Lots of trainees with no managers in sight, so very often they're guessing and too afraid
Kapama River Lodge

This was a wonderful game lodge for our first safari experience. Our guides were Tervin and Pardon and they were absolutely amazing. They showed us something different on every single drive and they were so kind and knowledgeable about the animals. They went above and beyond to show us everything we wanted to see and more. The lodge itself is in beautiful surroundings. The spa and restaurant overlook a water hole where we saw baboons and hippos. The food at the restaurant was amazing and there were delicious new things to try everyday. The housekeeping and restaurant staff were all great. Such an amazing place! I wish I could have stayed longer!
