Cleanliness The place is good cause we needed privacy and away from town, but the place was not clean. In the bathroom the arr spider webs and ant hills under basin. We stayed for 2 days and the linen was not changed, the was dust on the study table and the pedestals. When you drain water from the tub or flash the is a awful smell dont know from where. But the receptionist Melody, she was the best 10/10.

Beautifully peaceful very clean everything you need for self-catering , a fan in lounge would be a plus even though house is well shaded and has air cons. Have told family and friends a must if looking to get a peaceful get away...............

We had to cut our trip short because the doors couldn't lock at night and our stuff was damaged by baboons at night. The lodge promised to refund us and up until today no refund after a lot of promises and ultimately my calls are no longer answered.

We stayed 3 nights and Leo the manager helped us with tips & tricks and brought us everywhere before we had our car. Service was great, but selfcatering. Room was big enough and nice beds. Shower enough power. The pool is small but nice. We were lucky to see giraffes, zebra's, bavianen, velvetmonkeys the first day and the last day a hippo in the water out of our room. Nice relaxed atmoshere!

As a long-term guest at this lodge, I was lucky enough to stay here for about 5 months, where I was able to work (remotely) comfortably and was away from the hustle & bustle of the town. This tranquil lodge is owned by two lovely people who made me feel truly at home, and the staff were helpful, friendly and took pride in the maintenance & cleanliness of the rooms and communal space. Not only are you situated right on the Olifants River, you can also explore the area on some exciting walking trails and enjoy a quiet braai on the deck overlooking the river. Although the baboons have proven to be quite crafty, you are nestled in a wild space and need to take care in keeping doors & windows closed when leaving a room.. the owners wish to live in harmony with wild, free animals, but they are working towards a solution to their baboon friends. If you're looking for a weekend getaway, group retreat, remote-working spot or a pit-stop along a travel route, this is the place for you! Self-catering, clean, beautiful and wild.

We loved our stay at Bushriver lodge. We were on a 3-month Africa trip and this was the only place we stayed in that had a communal kitchen of such a good quality. We loved it! It was really well-equipped. We had our own fridge and shelf and it was surprisingly clean and tidy at all times. My partner was raving about the good quality of the kitchen equipment, particularly the knives This along with the bar and dining area was amazing. Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Melody. Having her around was so amazing. She was fun and solved all our problems for us. One of the nicest hotel managers we met. We liked the pool area. Although small, it was under a huge tree and dappled sunlight came through. We stayed in 2 rooms, both of which we loved. Nr 1 which had the hugest bathtub I have ever seen and which was lovely, and the honeymoon suite nr 5 which was stunning, had one of the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen in a hotel along with a huge deck. We absolutely loved this place. You have to be aware that there are a lot of baboons around. Their antics are very cute but they got into the kitchen once and stole food! The lodge are working on a solution to this. In any case, we will definitely be back!
