A truly outstanding hotel, set beautiful grounds, breathtaking interiors and staff dedicated to giving the best experience possible to guests. It was one of those special hotels where everything has been carefully prepared and you never have to ask for anything... everything is already in place.

From the greeting from the wonderful lady (sorry I don’t get your name) she was warm incentive full of knowledge about the hall it’s a delightful greeting. The food was beautiful and the waitress and Barnaby were so attentive and kind. The suite we had was a delight and the pantry touch was a delightful treat. What a beautiful hidden gem of a place it was a joy from start to finish. I loved feeding the animals! I’ll I can say is a massive Thank you for a wonderful evening to celebrate my husbands birthday. We will definitely be back 100%

Problems with the room but upgraded to the Beatrix suite which was lovely. The original room was located over the fans generator and we could hear them going all the time. Food and service excellent. Beautiful public rooms with log fire. Very peaceful relaxing stay Appreciated the lift access to the rooms.

We stopped one night to celebrate my mum's 89th Birthday. Had to phone hotel when we got to guest entrance gates as they did not automatically open as we expected. We then found there was an intercom button on a post a short way back from the gates but we hadn't seen it. The hotel is just so beautiful, stunning location in the middle of countryside, peaceful and relaxed. I phoned to book two rooms as, because of my mum's age, we like to stop close to her in case of an emergency. When we booked the lady told us that we would have rooms opposite each other. We didn't, we had rooms on different floors. In the end it wasn't a problem. Also on their website it says "All 37 of our bedrooms offer spectacular views of the rolling countryside to the front, or glorious Hawkstone Gardens to the rear". Mum's room (112) had neither view, she was overlooking a flat roof and the sides of the hotel. Our room (202) did have an amazing view of the countryside. I do think the website needs amending to say "most" of the rooms not "all" as that could be a huge disappointment. Having said all this this is certainly not a negative review, quite the opposite. It is one of the best hotels we have ever stopped in. It is beautifully decorated throughout, both rooms were spacious (classic rooms) with everything needed and very comfy beds and pillows, beautiful bathrooms. Both rooms spotlessly clean (as where all areas of the hotel). The gardens are beautiful and lovely to walk around, the donkeys and llama a lovely surprise and we enjoyed going to say hello to them. Do ask at reception for a map of the grounds as there are a few features you could miss otherwise. Personally I think a map should be put in every bedroom. Also the welcome glass of Prosecco was a lovely touch. The menu for the Saloon Restaurant wasn't to our liking but we were able to sit in there and order off the Hill's Kitchen menu which was perfect for us. Food was excellent as was service. But what really makes this hotel stand apart from others is the amazing staff (every single one of them) that are so friendly, informative and go out of their way to make people welcome. You get a definite sense that they all enjoy working there, know the history of the hotel and are proud of it. Would definitely recommend this hotel as it really does offer a peaceful escape and is easy to get to off the main road (A49).

Make sure you ask a lot of questions about the room before you book! We were given the smallest possible room (we have bigger cupboards at home and I am NOT joking!). This was especially disappointing as the hotel website displays magnificent photo’s of large bedrooms. We could have coped with the room size but the BED was so small we could hardly squeeze into it. This was a dog friendly room (Room 111 so you can avoid it). I paid £175 for the room. I’m sure the bed cost less than that - cheap horrid furniture. Freezing cold bathroom, so tiny there was not even a towel rail. A coat rack to hang our clothes. It was utterly grim. I would have left if it was not miles from anywhere on a Sunday night. On the plus side…. The garden and views are gorgeous. Lunch was very nice. Staff friendly and attentive.

We visited Hawkstone Hall for Sunday lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday. Food was excellent, we both had beautifully pink beef with a good range of vegetables, plentiful and delicious. Service was friendly and efficient, as always. Thank you Angela, one of our favourite places to visit!

we got the hotel by the entrance wich takes you thorugh the golf course. To get access to the hotel, you need to go through a gate and a very narrow single road that eventually takes you to a second gate that opens automaticaly and, when you think you are in the wrong place, then you see the hotel in front of you with a third gate that also opens automatically. You might be lucky to come through the other entrance which is easier and closer to the hotel. The hotel is quite new and, from the moment we enter it, the staff made us feel very welcome. Ther is a nice green area to walk around with a reiver nearby. The room we were in was very comfortable, the bed was great and the bathroom spacious and clean. the only downside was the pipes when anybody in another room uses the sink-they are very noisy. Brekfast was vey good and dinner excellent. I can't but hope that we will come to this hotel at some point in the future.

Expected high hopes but unfortunately let down. Booked a table of 12 for Sunday lunch, advised we needed to pre order but on the morning of the lunch I had to chase up whether pre order was still required having received no request. A menu was swiftly shared and pre order sent off. On arrival at the venue the main door was locked, pressed the bell but received no response until someone saw us through the glass waiting. We met the rest of our party in the snug and offered drinks, it was some time until our drinks order was taken. We were taken to our table in the Garden Room which was beautiful but a little chilly. Our drinks finally arrived at the table in two parts an hour after ordering them. The first two courses arrived beautifully presented and very tasty with lots on the plate. When the final course came it was served with cold custard, of which was taken back and took a long time to return, by which the crumble it was accompanying was cold. Two of the party were having a cheeseboard which arrived some time after the other puddings and without butter or a cheese knife. All of which needed to be chased up. Even the bill at the end didn’t include the deposit which had been paid so this had to be rectified. Some of the staff where very attentive but others not so much, albeit apologetic but then the service never redeemed itself, such a shame for a beautiful venue with superb food however attention to detail and standards should have been higher.
