Location superb, grounds very well looked after. Pool area excellent. Rooms well designed. Food mainly good but one of the nights it was cold due to burners not being switched on early enough. This meant we could not eat it but still we were expected to pay for it??? Heating up chicken with burners not a good way forward.

Die Anreise von Keetmanskoop ist lang aber es lohnt sich und man sollte auf jeden Fall länger als 1 Nacht bleiben, mindestes 2-3 Nächte. Um die Anlage zu geniessen ist schon 1 Tag empfehlenswert. Man fühlt sich wie im " Hobbitland". Zur Hotelgruppe gehören noch das Canyon Roadhause und Canyon Village. Wir haben die Wahl der Lodge nicht bereut alles eine Geschmackssache und Preissache. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und man hat verschiedene gigantische Ausblicke. Die Anlage ist sehr groß und der Weg zum Pool ist schon eine kleine "Wanderung". Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und hat immer ein Lächeln im Gesicht. An der Bar mit Terrasse kann man den Abend am Feuer gemütlich ausklingen lassen. Das Essen ist hervorragend auch wenn mal größere Gruppen da sind klappt der Service. Zu empfehlen ist ein Ausflug zum Fish River Canyon man muss nicht selber fahren und kann richtig genießen, hatten den Luxus eine Privattour zu bekommen, da keine weiteren Gäste angemeldet waren. Warm anziehen. Zimmer sind rustikal aber passt zur Gesamtatmosphäre.

Beautiful
A gracious lodge in a spectacular setting. We were welcomed warmly and helped to take our cases to our lodge. The lodge was smallish and basic but in a lovely spot surrounded by wildlife. Food was excellent, and we loved afternoon snacks on the terrace. The pool was beautifully sited and quiet. Darius led a very enjoyable and informative sundowner walk. Only a tiny criticism - the service in the restaurant was sometimes very slow. Overall our stay was a delight.

I had a not so good experience with Canyon Lodge and found their customer service extremely poor. While I had an issue, I would have thought that the lodge would have had better support through a difficult situation. They did not. Thus, my rating is what it is.

Lovely location of the Hotel as not far from the Canyon, welcoming staff. The rooms were very clean and breakfast was good. Why 3 stars? Algernon who was the receptionist had no answer to any question and had to check with management from the price of the set dinner to what was the options for vegetarians.. We found him friendly on face but not nice to deal with...
