The stay was uncomfortable and I was disappointed there was no privacy the curtain in the bedroom was see through, and opposite was other bedrooms so they could see right in, and the curtain in the bathroom was too small for the window, the window was an old wooden window and it wasn’t securely locked all night. The room was very hot 🥵 and the fan was full of black dust. Luckily I had my own toiletries with me because there was nothing to wash in when I used the shower. and when I left my room that morning, to put my bag in my car I seen the cleaner walking out of my room with no consent from me with my purse on the bed before handing my keys back, I don’t think that’s acceptable at all costs. I’m not sure if the other rooms in the building are better than the one I stayed in, but I can honestly say I don’t think i want to go back.

Lovely country house now serving excellent value lunches at £13.95 for 3 courses or choose from the main al la carte menu. Food was good indeed as was the friendly service. We will call again no doubt and try the main menu, but the lunches were great!!

The room met our expectation and the location of the hotel is nice, in a quiet area. The staff is brilliant and helpful. The breakfast and dinner was enough and the price is acceptable.

As a frequent Guest at the hotel, we arrived to there being an issue with the boiler, we spoke to the manager Gemma who was compassionate, caring and totally professional she gave constant updates. Boiler issue was resolved Monday didnt bother us as a cold shower was welcomed and I think some guests over reacted as everyone was advised- Food in restaurant was great and Connor was amazing at serving us - Thanks Gemma Connor and team we will be back

This was our second visit to this hotel. The room this time (17) was much better than previous room we had in October 2024 (12) although furniture still very dated its usable. Could only see basic cleaning in the room as plenty of cobwebs and dead spiders on the walls. The Tv worked occasionally - turned on in the morning (8.00 am) with no signal (5.12 am showed on screen). Arrived back at hotel first night at 9.30 pm no one on reception. The room was so hot we had to have the window open which resulted in a huge wasp like creature buzzing around the room. The room was above the restaurant but it shut quite early so not a problem with noise. Since there's no air conditioning, having a fan available in hot weather would be a welcome addition. On Sunday morning, there was no hot water in the room, and I was unable to contact reception as the in-room phone was not functioning. Went to reception to be informed that there was a problem with the boiler and no hot water available throughout hotel since Saturday, which we were not informed about. No other provisions were offered considering this was the hottest weekend Wales have had so far this year. We were also informed that an engineer would be at the hotel at 10 am. Returning to hotel Sunday night we were informed still no hot water as the engineer did not arrive. We were checking out the following day and was told that the manager would be available the next day to discuss compensation. Checked out Monday 9.30 am - no manager, and I had to mention a good will gesture/compensation to receptionist. We had to leave our name and phone number for the manager to phone us the next day, which she did and offered us £20 compensation per night. I have disputed this but have not heard any response yet. Restaurant: We did not eat at the hotel this time due to our full itinerary and felt the breakfast was not up to standard in October 2024. However, in October we did eat in the evening with family and could not fault the food which was very reasonably priced. Overall, this hotel has the potential to be excellent with some modern updates, a bit of care, and greater attention to detail.

Stayed as part of the couples deal - bed breakfast and dinner for 2 nights . The property is stunning outside and expected the rooms to be a bit dated but was in keeping with the building. The room seemed clean and was a decent size. On arriving at the property on Saturday we were informed that there was no hot water but the plumber was due later that day. It was so hot it didn't matter too much until it came to showering in the evening, apparent that the plumber hadnt turned up that day. We had dinner which was disappointing - my pasta tortellini I would say was from aldi served in a sauce in just of a tin of chopped tomatoes, my partners steak and ale pie was watery meat topped with crusty lid, so nothing special at all. The pudding was nice though.. the room was boiling even with the window open and no fan/aircon. We both woke up with a sore back from the bed. The breakfast was greasy and not fresh so couldn't eat most of it, there was a choice of 3 cereals and toast - no fruit or anything else to have as an alternative so left hungry. I couldnt bear another night in a hot room, no hot water, and the prospect of another meal I wouldn't enjoy, a greasy breakfast so we decided to move on. Initially we spoke to reception who said there was no manager until the following Friday and we'd have to write an email requesting a refund. We reluctantly decided to take this approach but very concerned once we'd left we wouldn't see our money again. Fair play to the receptionist who did see our side and contacted the manager and we managed to get some money back. They did say the plumber was due sunday but reading the last review, didnt turn up again. Overall, even though a lovely place it lacked basic comforts, decent food and atmosphere. Unfortunately I can't recommend staying here until some thought goes into the basics and having some management on hand to deal with any issues.

The building is beautiful, the staff are lovely. Rooms could be cleaner, especially the bathroom - full of spiders and lots of grit in the bath along with chunks of limescale. The breakfast was really bad im afraid, really cheap ingredients for the full Welsh, cheapest possible sausages deep fried, black pudding like a rubber disc all served on a hot black plate. We couldn't eat it. The hotel served its purpose for our needs and was priced accordingly.
