Helpful staff although with limited English but they do try their best to help. Love the public onsen in the hotel. Location is close to the train station and a few minutes walk to the car rental area. Recommended if you want to explore Hirosaki.

With Hirosaki Station to your back, Toyoko to the right, Route Inn directly in front, and Art Hotel to the left, it was easy to find.
Apparently the downtown area of Hirosaki is closer to Hirosaki Castle than the station, and the bus service ends early, so I walked 30 minutes through the snow to go see the evening lantern festival.
I knew this, but it's still tough when there are no buses.
I think breakfast is free for all guests, but the variety of dishes is surprising for something that's free, so I was very satisfied.
I also like that it starts early, from 6-9am.
It gets busy just after 6am, but around 6:30am I was able to eat without having to queue.
There was also an artificial hot spring on the 14th floor, which was small but relaxing.
All of this makes 6,000 yen for a Saturday stay cheap.
