I had high expectations from reading previous reviews. The welcome was good , waited a while to be checked in ,but after 20 minutes I had a room key (that didn't work) so complicated fir such a small hotel. However I eventually got into my room, nicely decorated and quite clean. The bathroom was questionable , it was quite dirty, half bottles of shampoo and used cloths on the sink, and my worst fear, hairs all over the toilet . Overall he room was acceptable. The bar area was nicely refurbished , but the tiling in the seating area was uneven and stubbed my foot a few times . Good selection of beers on the bar taps , however the refusal of a whisky due to its smell was odd, and the attitude was all wrong . I'm pleased I stayed for the 2 nights and went elsewhere .

A small error with our Sunday Carvery booking was quickly resolved by the team on Sunday and we settled in for another amazing Sunday carvery at the hotel. It never disappoints and we always leave feeling full with lots of lovely meats, vegetables and accompaniments to choose from. The desserts are also delicious and we look forward to every visit we make here.

Stayed here part of a tour . Friendly enough staff . Room dated needs modernised large shower / toilet but bedroom small . Used shampoo and soap in shower. No view . Food amazing had dinner here twice and was lovely . Bar limited stock no slimline tonic or Bombay sapphire gin . Location beautiful area and well situated .

Excellent choices for lunch, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Can definitely recommend popping in if you’re in the North end of Shetland. The freshly baked scones were delicious, and the fresh clotted cream and jam went down a treat.

We called on the off chance of a Sunday Carvery table. We were lucky and were not disappointed. It was delicious and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Excellent in every way.

We found owner Andrea Monson's lovely friendly team for whom nothing was too much trouble, good food, a beautiful location, sheltered with great views. This was our first visit to Shetland an we found it well placed as a base to explore the North Mainland and northern isles.

Stopped here for coffee and a scone after the cafe we passed was fully booked. A warm welcome with good coffee and fine scones. A rare find in Shetland outside Ledwick. The hotel is wooden construction and originally from Norway. It is said to be the only one of its kind in the UK
