Upscale retreat in the woods with luxury moments, and wonderful team members rhat go above and beyond. The main reason this review is five out of five is because of the great guest service agents ans Reception team, especially John at Reception who went above and beyond to address our concerns and remedy the situation that arose in the room. The team cares greatly, and despite the upsells targeted over text or email I found all the in person interactions to be that of a luxury stay. One area of improvement is for housekeeping to respect the DND door -- only hotel where that has been violated, but the front desk team apologized and made up for it -- again shout out to John G and his manager Bowl (I think!?) that sought to turn our stay around. I learned that they do not officially call themselves a 4 star resort, but they are associated with Marriot bookings now. Hopefully this relationship with Marriot and their Bonvoy system will formalize the 4-5 star offerings to enhance the guest experience even more. The complimentary banana bread and coffee/tea reminds me of the upscale Kimpton coffee offerings, and the Supper Club has a great brunch -- John with the team at the Supper Club is exceptional and embodies true hospitality. Thanks for a great stay, and we'll be back to try the Trailborn experience next time we are in town.

Located in a area away from the main street area, but close enough that you could walk to town. Very clean and comfortable. Nice gathering room with a fireplace to relax. Would like to see a comfortable chair in the bedroom besides just an office chair.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was not impressed. A king bedroom was $400 plus a night. I have a 1-year-old and I woke up the next morning with a bunch of ants by the front bedside table. I called and the front desk explained this was a "common issue" for their area and the bug man was making his rounds and he would stop my room next. I didn't feel very comfortable since I had my 1-year-old there in such a tight space and was formula feeding from his Keurig as well. I will say the front desk associate was very friendly and super accommodating when I asked for a new room he granted this request to two doors down in same King room. I checked in and there was a roach and spider by the front door. Again, for $400 plus a night, I would expect a little more from this hotel. If it was just me and my spouse, that's OK, but with my 1-year-old crawling around, it's a no-go next time.

The shower was filthy with mold in the grout of the tile. Staff failed to clean room and leave fresh towels on our stay. Will not stay there again.

Room was large and comfortable, loved the robes! Shower was excellent and enjoyed the outdoorsy smell of the hand soap provided. The lobby eating/ hangout area was spacious, crazy, and well decorated. The banana bread breakfast was yummy.

Great spot in Highlands. Walking distance to downtown and restaurants, plus nearby to lot of great trail runs and hikes. Nice, comfortable room with good shower and quiet. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my solo trip. Staff was super accommodating and made sure I knew what there was available to enjoy in terms of activities and services. The room was secluded and well appointed… nice lighting throughout. Spacious. Love the vibes. Dinner in the cabin restaurant was delicious!

For this hotel to ask for $600 a night, then there must be something that stands out to warrant that nightly price tag. Knowing the property (and rooms) don't necessarily stand out as anything other than a very basic/standard economy option, then the service must be outstanding. And to be honest, the service was the worst I have seen in a very long time. As a customer, I am not looking to be waited on hand and foot, it is just in regards to an act of kindness or willingness to be supportive in the stay. I believe his name was Bear, at the front desk. Not only was his personality a 0/10 in friendliness, he couldn't care less to be accommodating. I gauge he is a more serious individual, which is fine, but to be the first greeter at the hotel and he isn't able to break a smile, you wonder if there is a better role for him at the property. The next issue was on the dozens of different nickel/dime fees. If you are paying $600 for one night, you should not be approached for a $35 upgrade to check in a few hours early. There is a standard in the industry that if the room is ready, then the guest should be accommodated. Especially when shared that we were staying to attend a wedding that started at 4:30 pm. So a 4 pm check-in creates a lot of difficulty. I understand if rooms weren't available, but when they are, which was communicated that they were, then the upcharge should not be presented and pushed. Feels disingenuous and puts a terrible taste in your mouth from the start.
