Tedford, was one of two homes he designed for High Point friends, Terry Harper and J.C. Welch as gifts for their wives, who were showgirls from Chicago during the Roaring 20’s. The homes were not only known for their unique architecture featuring stucco exterior and interior, terra cotta roofs, tile floors, and ornate iron work, they also gained the reputation for having memorable parties and events throughout the years. The Welch-Mangum home is beautifully decorated with antiques (some pieces are original to the home) and a collection of memorable finds over the years from High Point furniture manufacturers.
