Beautiful location. Dog friendly. The room was very smart, nice and warm. Lovely crockery supplied with proper ground coffee with a cafetiere and a tea pot. Bottles of water. Very happy with accommodation. Delicious food, very friendly young man, Kit waiting on in the mornings and booking guests in, an asset to the business. Excellent value, would definitely go back.

Very traditional, rustic Old Inn. Filled with character and log fires inside but rooms were clean and modern. Great.

This is a really nice old coaching inn, low beans, real fires, dark and interesting. Very well cooked pub grub (bangers and mash ✔️ cottage pie✔️✔️) great local beer and nice rooms at very reasonable prices. It’s in a great location a short walk from Hardraw Falls. The one area for improvement would be for some of the bar staff to be more welcoming - a smile and a “hello” is so different from a stony face 😀☹️

The Green Dragon didn't disappoint.
Absolutely amazing atmosphere with all the fires lit in every room. Amazing history and almost like a film set. Really busy at Sunday lunch but thats because the food is really good.
We had a small apartment which seemed to be brand new.
Huge comfy bed so had the best night sleep!

No food
The hotel was advertised as having a restaurant. After a long day at work and travelling I arrived to be told the restaurant wasn’t open. I was told there were places I could drive to but after a long day didn’t really want to. I got myself showered and changed. When down in the bar other residents were there and the next thing pizza arrived for staff and residents. Quite annoying that nobody had let me know when they were aware I was wanting food.
The next morning I went to make a coffee, the milk was sour!!! On a positive note it was lovely and so were the views.

We stayed here because of the connection with the show All Creatures great and small. We took several nice walks to the waterfall on site, and a trail to Hawes for lunch. The history, building offers wonderful unique charater and an appreciation for life in this part of England 1,000 years ago. We prepaid this property thru ******* and wish it were an option to pay onsite when we arrived, as our plans changed as they often do during travel to leave a day early avoiding a long day in the car traveling south. Unfortunately, no refund for that last night stay. We recommend the Green Dragon Inn. Cheers!
