Kolping Hotel Spa & Family Resort

Stayed for 3 nights with our 2year old ,300€ per night including breakfast and dinner. Seeing the pictures and the ratings we were quite excited but our expectations were slammed. After the first night we were thinking about leaving. - Very loud hotel neighbors were running and screaming around until 12 in the night...no one tried to step in. Food was still in the fridge from the previous guest. Ants on the floor. Dirty pants laying on the hotel hall way for a whole day. We had dinner included but drinks you had to pay extra...not even water was available for free. Staff did what they are supposed to but you had at no point the feeling they are happy that you are here. Activities they offer are okay but pretty standard, not deserving "Family Hotel". Bed was extra hard, almost like sleeping on the floor. City is in the middle of nowhere...nothing happening around there. ± Food was very good besides of some old fruits and cereal they reused from the day before. Reception was friendly. Summary: Not recommending it, there are better ways to spend your holiday for that price.

This was our third time, and I can safely say, not our last. This time we brought 1 set of grandparents and even they had a great time. The rooms was spotless, plenty of storage and all you could possibly need when travelling with kids (from tiny babies to teens). The grounds were beautiful, all in bloom and very well kept. The hotel was pretty full but you only feel it at certain times, mainly during meals. We really enjoyed lounging by the pool. My boys participated in challenges, competitions and activities and collected loads of Bobo money :) The food was amazing, as always! I love how only local and seasonal ingredients are used. My absolute favourites are the sauna infusions. I took part in all of them and really enjoyed them, even grandma gave it a fair go. The healing pool in the quiet zone was a nice little escape, too. We had such a good time that we barely left the resort (to show the grandparents Kesthely). We only used the free entry to Bobo fun park once. On our last visit we got 1 full day entry with all attractions, this time it was daily 4-hour sessions but the climbing was excluded from the ticket. You can buy that for extra 3000 FT. The boys loved the trampoline/video game the most. We also had a birthday cake brought to us by Bobo himself! My 7-year old loved it. It can feel a bit overwhelming with the whole restaurant watching and all kids aged 5 and under in Bobo's tail so keep that in mind if your kids are shy :) It was worth the experience. Also, a big thanks to all the lovely staff, receptionists were always so helpful, especially the young dark-haired girl, who very patiently explained everything to me (twice!) :) Everyone is very polite, the cleaning ladies always greet the guests... I can't fault this place at all!!! Just miss a cold plunge after a good sauna :D

Overall nice experience, but part of the facility needs some modernization. Outside pool area project is just about to start though. The quality of the kitchen is not where it used to be, but biggest pain overall are the outrageous prices in all buffet and bar are simply diminishing any intention to go back.

Great place to visit with kids. Even though the weather was not warm enough to go to Lake Balaton, we had a fantastic time in the hotel. Everything is available you need: pools, fun park, daycare just to name a few.

We have been here for the 20th time and as always we had an amaizing 6 days. The food was out of this world, as well as the helpfullness of the staff. Truly a wonderfull place, I can recommend it to any age.

It's a real experience for families, I recommend everyone to try it at least once. We will definitely come back again. Thanks!
