Overall we really liked Star Beach. We chose 2 studio rooms in the Anex as our boys are 14 & 18 and a little past sharing a room with mum and dad. These rooms are nice, enough storage for clothes but the bathrooms are very small. Manageable, but small. There is a tunnel to walk through to take you over to the main resort and reception. This tunnel is about 5ft high, so anyone taller has to stoop and walk through, and it bring you out onto the road: you’re better just crossing the busy road, as the cars do slow and let you past. Food is nice. There is an Asian restaurant and a Greek restaurant on site, these you have to book in advance. We were told this, but we’re planning on eating at the main buffet. One night this wasn’t very good so we chanced it and went to both restaurants. They both had 20 + empty tables but we still weren’t allowed to sit down. As we left someone arrived and their booking hadn’t been written down, they popped them straight on the list and found them a table, not sure why they could t offer us the same ?! Snack bars are ok, pizza, toasties, burgers. Highly recommend the noodle snack bar in the water park !! The slides are good, as is the water park area for younger children. There is a club vibe to this resort, but the music is usually done at the water park by about 9pm so never disturbed us. We did head out for a few meals. Old town Malia is €20 and 10mins in a taxi, with lovely restaurants. You can also walk along the beach front and within 10mins find places to eat. We booked jet skiing near the Greek restaurant. It’s a lot cheaper here than on the Star beach front. 15mins €80 pp and the 2nd person €20 compared to the excursion centre was 30mins for 1 jet ski, 1 or 2 people €100 so double the time for the same price: Get up early for your dinners. By 10am they are all gone. However, near the VIP area on the water park they have some lovely padded beds, which Star beach people can use. Also the beach has loads of beds. Bar staff are really nice. Entertainment staff are really good too. Reception staff are mostly great and super helpful, there is 1 guy who is so so rude !! Hopefully you don’t have to deal with him !! We did have a problem with our toilet that was constantly flushing, it never got sorted but we managed to jiggle it a little and stop the water. All in all a great holiday. Good pretty good. We would come again

Stayed here for 10 days in August 2024. The food was fairly good - nothing special. Breakfast had a wide range of choice, and whilst it became a bit repetitive towards the end of the stay, that is to be expected. Lunch was alright aswell, however became very repetitive after the first few days. Dinner on the other hand seemed like a repeat of lunch most nights and the ‘themed’ meals didn’t do much to help it. They were on a 7 day cycle and consisted of various international cultures eg Indian night, Far East Buffet etc. These seemed like a bit of an afterthought as the extent of the themes were a small section of the main restaurant with a limited selection of dishes. The Cretan Star Restaurant was very similar to the main restaurant at lunch so didn’t really have much going for it, apart from the fact it was a bit closer to the sea. There is also an East Asian themed restaurant, however I didn’t end up eating there. The daytime snacks/bars were quite good. There were 4/5 bars and snack bars across the resort. The bars had a good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and were open from 9:00 till 00:00. At each bar, there was an ice cream freezer with 5 different flavours (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pistachio and banana). Most the snack bars had burgers, hot dogs, toasted sandwiches, noodles, salads and chips. Tommy at the Dionyssos Pool Bar did an especially good job and was always incredibly welcoming. Across the complex there were 4 pools. The main pool (the Dionyssos) was incredibly undersized for what you would expect from a hotel with 400 rooms. The second pool in the actual resort was seemingly rather pointless as it was only about 30 square metres and therefore only held about 10 or so people comfortably. This was frustrating and sort of invalidated the claim that there were 2 pools in the resort as the small pool was next to useless. The other two pools previously mentioned are across the road from the resort. One is a kids pool - only really suitable for ~ under 10s. The other is the adults pool area. The adults pool is the centre of the real action, and has a DJ for most the day every day of the week - during my stay the reasonably famous Afrojack DJed on the Saturday. The main problem - this area does not fall under the all inclusive, so you need to pay a flat fee of 30 Euros per person per day for access to it. This pool system is a monumental design floor in the hotel’s functioning, as the best pool is not suitable for children and not actually included in the hotel package. The water park also seems like a bit of an afterthought. There are only 4 different slides there which is nothing like other resorts with more substantial water parks that I’ve been to historically. The lifeguards were really good though, especially the one who looks like Maradona. The daytime entertainment is lacking and seemed very underfunded. The darts board was made out of paper and was on the verge of collapse. There were only 5 darts and

Zie wc 😷

Star Beach Crete is well-located, about 25 minutes from the airport. It’s a fairly large resort with spacious rooms. The food is average, and the pools are small, catering mainly to young children. While there’s an excellent and convenient water park nearby with no lines, the resort lacks a large swimming pool and a covered pool. The dining areas are adequate, with seating always available. The quality of the food is reasonable but nothing exceptional. The two on-site restaurants offer a wide variety of dishes, but the quality remains average. The bars within the resort are convenient, though the selection of drinks is limited. Service throughout the resort is good. The beach has two excellent bars that serve good lunches for kids, and there’s an additional bar offering excellent desserts. However, it’s important to note that no food should be brought into the rooms, as it will attract ants immediately!

We spent as a family of four a fab week at Star Beach Village and Water Park. I highly recommend for families who love to choose from a variety of pool and splash fun, or just float in the cristal clear sea admiring the gourges view. My 6 year old loved the Pirate ship slides, my 10 year old the splendid turquoise sea. Welcoming reception staff offered us a meal even if we arrives in the middle of the night, transferes to the rooms with a golf car - come very handy with a sleeping son and luggages. Clear, cosy standard family room we had with large balxony, fridge stocked up daily with fresh water by the friendly staff. Large choice of continental and traditional food from several restaurants. Special thank you and appreciation to Diana and George who we met at the main restaurant. They both shown professionalism and good customer service, making sure we have everything we need during meal time, made sure the table is spotless and helped us with good advice when we asked for. My son really liked the kiwi jam - they made the effort and took the time to explain where about I could find a shop to purchase some as well. Thanks again. Hope to see you next time!

This year, we visited Star Beach Hotel for the fourth time. We are very satisfied with the hotel's services, especially with the professional work of Mr. Antonis, the hotel maître d'. His work is always of the highest level. He provides guests with comfort, important information, and always takes care of them with a smile on his face. The hotel offers very high-quality and freshly prepared meals. The beaches are not overcrowded, even during the peak tourist season. Evening entertainment is provided in the hotel resort every night. We would like to thank Star Beach Hotel for everything, and we extend our thanks to Mr. Antonis. We wish him all the best and continued success, with many satisfied guests like us. Wonderful staff even though it is very busy. Rooms cleaned every day. Food and facilities are top class. Evening entertainment 7 nights a week. This is just a dream family holiday. Lounge at the pool, enjoy the action at the water slides. Kids club during the day. 2 mini markets on site. Snack bars, restaurants, cocktails, you never even need to leave the resort although the town is 5min walk. Beaches 1min from hotel. Watersports available too. I could recomend this place highly enough. It was my daughters birthday and the restaurant staff gave her a cake with candles and sang happy birthday. Amazing.

Hello, We were there last week and got our room at the annex (next to the Spar) so we had to cross the busy road which was very dangerous and also noisy. The tunel is very dirty and also far from the hotel so we always had to walk at least 10 minutes to get to the beach. The only pro about the annex is that it has a pool and a bar too and we used it every day for a few hours. For us it was really strange that everyone can walk into the hotel or to the beach because nobody watch it so we didn’t feel safe. The foods and drinks were excellent i had the best all inclusive food ever. The sea was also beautiful and the main pool was nice.
