The rooms are of what you expect from a prem inn, but don't bother with the meal deal as that was shocking. Terrible small unappetizing menu with maybe half a dozen options. Starters included a bowl of chips!! I'm not sure what's going on with premier inns but this is the second hotel I've stopped at in recent weeks and both had this awful eating arrangements. Nowhere on the website does it mention this new ridiculous meal deal.

We stayed at the the hotel last night 5.3.2025 as we went to a gig at the Kings Hall. The hotel is very clean and the staff are polite and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. However, during the night we were kept awake by what sounded like someone stomping loudly around the room above us. At 2.30am after we had put up with it for an hour and a half we went down to reception and complained about it to the night receptionist. The noise abated for an hour or so and then started back up with doors slamming this time. In the morning we mentioned it to the receptionist on duty and she said she didn't know anything about it, apparently the night receptionist had not informed her. I realise that Premier inn are not responsible for the bad behaviour of their guests but it really spoiled our stay.

I booked in before my allotted time, the room was perfect. However, when i asked about eating arrangements i was told, the Table table was now closed and i was offered a limited menu and wine from a can (disgusting). The chicken curry was passable, but not great! I ordered a vanilla ice-cream for desert (crystalline and tasteless). So a far cry from the formerly attached restaurant! I asked where the toilet was ( halfway through my ice cream) I was told to use my hotel room toilet as there wasn't one available. My room was at the extremity of the hotel and returned to a defrosted ice-cream (very unhappy now). I went to settle the bill and offered cash ( i'd left my BC in my room). So i suggested i'd pay in the morning when i came down stairs! promptly to be told that it wasn't possible and could be considered as, no intent to pay. I left the money on the table. In my opinion The Premier inn group has deteriorated beyond compare and they name PREMIER should be deleted. I honestly empathise with the existing staff and the stress they must be under, as a result of Whitbreads cost cutting

I was slightly concerned by other reviews before our stay but went with an open mind and honesty there was nothing I could fault! Plenty of free parking. Check in was efficient, helpful and friendly. Room was clean and quiet and ticked all the boxes! Breakfast had everything you needed, was cooked well and replenished as needed. You know what you are getting with Premier Inn, after all it’s a budget hotel but this actually exceeded expectations and worked out cheaper than us getting the train down! Don’t let other negative reviews put you off.

Stay was ok, bed very comfy, but nothing special, budget hotel at best, staff were friendly, breakfast is not good, I'd recommend going elsewhere for breakfast, we only stayed for 2 nights as out air bnb fell through. But for a budget stay at a seaside town it was OK

We frequently stay at Premier Inns as we like to go on city breaks, and they suit our purpose. However the Herne Bay one is very disappointing. When we arrived we asked for early check in, however were told that they had no rooms ready. Which was fine, however when I asked to use the loo before we left, I was informed there wasn’t one. The staff seemed bored and disinterested, which is a shame as we usually find the staff at the premier inns to be really nice. Breakfast was farcical, we turned up at about 9am and they had run out of eggs! The coffee machine also broke down and the juice ran out. God knows what the people later to breakfast would eat. The staff at breakfast were also sullen and it just seemed really badly run. Not sure we will ever return to this one, which is a shame as we like the area.

The staff were all so helpful, professional and friendly! Zoe was on reception when we arrived and was polite and informative. She as also on duty the folllowng morning and spotted we were waiting a little to be seated at breakfast and sorted a table for us. I understand there had been a big group in earlier so Sophie, who was the only person clearing tables, checking people in for breakfast, stocking up etc was constantly on the go but remained cheery and went out of her way to help with any request made. The chef, Amber, again on her own, produced a lovely tasty breakfast. Eggs cooked to perfection. Over all an enjoyable experience.

We stayed recently as part of a Hockey Team as we were playing locally. Our group was a mixture of young players and parents. Our room was exactly what you expect from a Premier Inn and adequate. Check was very efficient and the meal deals they offer are extremely good value. The most impressive thing was the young team of staff who were always polite, professional and prompt with service. We had allergies amongst our group and these were handled extremely well. Would return
