Disappointing Experience at This Overpriced Beach Hotel My stay at this beachfront motel was extremely disappointing, especially given the premium price of $600 per night in July. The accommodations were more akin to a budget motel than a luxury beach hotel. Upon arrival, we found sand on the floors and in the beds, despite not having visited the beach yet. This indicated that the room had not been properly cleaned before our check-in. Furthermore, the sheets had visible stains, and the supposedly "freshly changed" pillowcases were equally dirty. The air conditioning was another major letdown. The in-wall units were broken and replaced by a large, clunky portable AC that barely worked and was incredibly loud. The constant noise drowned out the soothing sound of the waves, which was one of the main reasons for choosing a beachfront hotel. Adding to the discomfort, the hot air exhaust from the portable unit was poorly managed, with a large tube casually hanging out of an open window, allowing the hot air to seep back into the room. Our rooms windows faced the alley. We heard the drunks partying into the night and were woken to the trash truck collecting dumpsters early the next morning. Given these issues, this hotel did not live up to its hefty price tag or its beachfront allure. Next time, I will choose a less expensive hotel a few blocks away from the beach and pay for daily parking instead. It’s clear that a cheaper option with better cleanliness and working amenities would provide a much more pleasant stay.

This hotel has a lot of issues amounting to a terrible experience overall. The greatest issue is the fact that I had no sleep for my entire 3-night stay. There were several factors causing poor sleep including the amount of noise coming from multiple sources and the brightness of the room at night. These factors were a result of poor design by the property. The first was what seemed to be a loud generator right behind our wall where our bed was that was supplying portable bathrooms for the hotel. They were having plumbing issues with their ONE public bathroom. The refrigerator in the room was obscenely loud and going the entire night. I’ve never experienced a hotel refrigerator this loud. There were shutters instead of curtains in the room making it quite bright when trying to sleep as the shutters didn’t block out the light from the outside. There was a large space between the door and floor providing for even more light to come into the room when trying to sleep. This may not be an issue for some, however, these are bare minimum requirements for a hotel to provide a restful night’s sleep, especially for the amount that this hotel charges per night. Those that want to sleep without ongoing loud noises or sensitive to light- this is not the hotel for you. There were a number of other issues that added up to a awful stay including extremely weak shower pressure (we had to use the wand to take our showers), the tv not working the first night, no place to put our clothing as they didn’t have a dresser and the closet only had ONE hanger… I could go on. I thought I was treating myself to a nicer enjoyable stay for the amount I paid (a bit of a splurge) but it was truly awful. The only positives were the beachfront location and the staff was friendly, but they didn’t address our concerns appropriately when we started bringing things up nor followed up with us. I usually don’t leave reviews, but this one was a must.

The Sea Sprite Beach Clubis a charming beachfront property located directly on The Strand on Hermosa Beach. It offers 34 upscale boutique rooms and suites with each offering coastal inspired, modern luxury. It offers the perfect blend of beachfront tranquillity, easy access to local attractions, and proximity to the vibrant heart of Hermosa Beach, as it's located within a short walk of Pier Plaza and Hermosa Avenue and its huge range of shops, restaurants and nightlife options. We entered the room into a spacious bedroom which had 2 large queen beds fitted with luxurious bedding and offered a very comfortable nights sleep. There was a built in wardrobe with a safe supplied at no additional cost and a large dresser with a 57" TV above it. On the other side of the room there was a spacious en suite with a large vanity and a tub/shower combination, a hairdryer and toiletries were also supplied. Between the beds was a large opening into a 2nd room, this was a separate living room with a kitchenette, large dining table and a queen sized sofa bed. The kitchenette had a minibar, coffee maker, sink and microwave, the only thing missing for me here would have been some dishes and cutlery. From the living room was a private balcony which offered breath-taking glimpses of the Pacific Ocean. The suite itself was tastefully decorated with a modern coastal theme, featuring comfortable furnishings, and tasteful artwork. The staff at the Sea Sprite Beach Club were very friendly and attentive. From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and offered helpful advice on local attractions and dining options. We were advised that there was a box in the lobby where you could find items that you may need for the beach such as buckets and spades, which was very handy. The service throughout our stay was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Our three-night stay at the Sea Sprite Beach Club was an absolute delight. The combination of the stunning ocean views, the comfortable and stylish accommodations, and the exceptional service made for an unforgettable experience. The hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway in Hermosa Beach and we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Los Angeles.

As local residents we were excited to stay at the newly reimagined Sea Sprite Beach Club for a mid-week, 2 day stay. The staff was welcoming, our room, on the 3rd floor, stylish, clean and had a nice ocean view. The hotel grounds are upscale to include a restaurant/bar with outdoor patio dining, seating and fire pits, none of which were operational on our first day of stay due to maintenance. We had no prior notification nor any accommodations offered. Also to note is no elevator access to the 3rd floor. Staff is friendly and helpful but still in training so service is average. MiniBar items used were not replenished until check out, including in room coffee pods. In conclusion we hope the input will encourage management to improve these details in light of the current room rates and to upgrade the overall experience.

We've stayed here maybe a total of 10 wks total over the past 4 years when we visit, since my son moved to Los Angeles. They recently completed a renovation and opened an outdoor bar in the middle of the hotel. Our room overlooks it. Right now it's 9pm and obnoxious country music is blasting while ageing local surfers and volleyball players get drunk at the bar. Was told we could move rooms for an upcharge. Through with this place. It used to be a charming little beachfront hotel but now it feels like spring break in Fort Lauderdale. Taking my business to the Beach House a few doors down from now on. Such a shame.

The room was perfect; nice size, any amenity you might need was provided. Amazing location and really great value. I was close to everything needed and the owner was very hospitable. Iris, at the front desk, couldn't have been more helpful. Just a great place to stay in Hermosa Beach.
