Hotels near Plateia Venizelou, Heraklion

The hotel is located in the center of the old town, very close to Piazza Venezia and the church. It is convenient for eating, shopping and going to the beach. It takes about 15 minutes to take a taxi from Heraklion Airport, and the taxi price is 15 euros. If you rent a car, you can park in the central parking. The night is 7 euros, and there is a 24-hour valet parking guy; the hotel is relatively new, and the rooms are relatively large in Europe. The bathroom is designed with three separate parts. It is best to bring your own slippers and toiletries. There is no toothpaste or toothbrush, and the towels are poor and Only one set was given to two people; there was a kettle; and the bar downstairs was noisy.

The location is very good, just next to the archaeological museum, you can stay in the museum after visiting the museum, and you can go to the Knossos site by bus at the door. The room is quite big and there is a kettle for hot water.

We stayed at Kronos Hotel for two nights at the end of May. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a sea view room with a stunning view of the harbour. Breakfast was included and adequate. There was also a water fountain: very useful! The hotel is very conveniently located, close to the harbour, the restaurants and the city centre and good value for money. In addition, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I had a pleasant 7 night stay here at this accommodation while in Heraklion, Crete. It belongs to the Lato Boutique, which is the main hotel. The Annex is right opposite and required card access to enter. Room was the Economy room (15 sq. metres), a little on the small side, but good enough for a solo traveller. The room was right next to the stairwell and the lift, so there were times I could hear people moving about, but at night it was very quiet, and there were no sleep disruptions. Bed was comfy, air-conditioning was also good. The shower was also good, with shampoo and soap provided, though I noticed it was running a little low towards the end of my stay (i.e., no refills were done). I also appreciated that a luggage rack was provided, along with two bottles of water on check-in day. Fridge was big enough to fit lots of mineral water bottles to keep them cold, which would be a great reprieve in the summer time. Room safe was incredibly huge as well, it can easily store laptops securely, if needed. The elevator door got stuck on the day of check-out, but still worked, so not too big of an issue there. Wi-Fi requires a special code that you can get from the reception. My first code strangely stopped working after two days, but was promptly rectified after I informed the reception of the issue. There were no other connectivity issues for me. The hotel location is pretty near to the Venetian Port, and the Rocca Fortress; it is also walking distance away from the main shopping street in Heraklion and lots of good eating places nearby. There are also supermarkets nearby to get water as well. It does get quiet at night, but I did not encounter any incidents that made me feel unsafe. My room came with buffet breakfast included, which is served in the main building. Breakfast starts service from 7 am onwards, and was generally quite crowded at the start. Depending on the crowd level, the staff will occasionally open up a new section of the dining area. Breakfast was generally good, there was a good spread of American breakfast items, to pastries, ham and cheese and even Greek yogurt with a lot of condiments. It varied a little bit from day-to-day, but was generally the same for the most part.

The sea view outside the window is first-class, facing the historic site. Although it is facing the street, the sound insulation effect of the door and windows is very good. Free parking lot is rare. It is about 500 meters away from the hotel. The linen in the room is relatively old. European hotels basically do not provide toothbrushes

Very good location, close to the port, long distance and short-distance bus station. Walk for a few minutes. It is also close to the busiest square, full of restaurants and cafes. No need to choose a sea view room, the window is small, a little sea view. The front desk service is very good, the commercial atmosphere of Crete is not strong, people are very friendly!

WE' LL COME BACK! Fantastic joy& pleasure we have had at Aquila Hotel at our stay there at Heraklion, it was our first time. Enjoyed it at breakfast, our room was so clean& with enough space with terrace& great view...Pool on 6th floor was pleasurable..All Hotel is interesting with exterior as well as interior...This hotel have so much to offer&most important to give you touch of happines at your stay! It is more convenient to go to Curlesburg, the bus station, and the central square. It is almost 500 meters walk. Take the 2nd road to Knossos Palace. The hotel staff is warm and friendly, the breakfast is very rich, and it is constantly improving according to our needs. The hotel can also help contact sightseeing. Because it is difficult to go to Spinalonga Island in the off-season (not open on weekdays), but Mary helped contact the taxi driver, carefully planned the route and plan for us, and constantly discussed. On the day of the trip, the driver also learned that there is a temporary group on the island, so by the way, it can be opened to us, so that the journey has no regrets!

Excellent central location, walking distance to major sightseeing sites. Polite and helpful staff, excellent breakfast and very clean. The only disadvantage is the quality of the bed mattress and the pillows, which are not very comfortable.
