The staff, including Katie, Emma, and Andrew, received high praise for exceptional service. The spa, gym, and pool were appreciated for relaxation and fitness. However, some guests found the rooms claustrophobic and outdated.

I booked and paid for a superior room based on your offer, as I have stayed in this room before. However, I was given a shabby, small room, number 14. It seems rooms 14 and 15 are reserved for guests you no longer wish to see. The explanation from the friendly receptionist was that the hotel was fully booked, which was not true. She tried to make up for the situation with a practical gift from Champneys, but the claustrophobic room and the difficulty of accessing it with a large suitcase after a long journey were unpleasant. The hotel incorrectly judged me based on my attire, even though I intended to use their facial massage services, which were very professional, as were their massages and the products they use. Everything that was old seven years ago is now seven years older and even more worn out. Breakfasts are modest but healthy. They could use more fresh herbs, which they once grew in the spa gardens, now overgrown with weeds. Guests leave their plates and glasses on the lawn, and no one picks them up promptly. The spa lacks organization, except on weekends when older women step in to help, solving problems more quickly and efficiently. I am disappointed because it is not fair to deceive customers regarding room types. While the room lacked nothing and was regularly cleaned, it was next to a smelly toilet, and I was promised a superior room but given a standard one, as indicated on the temporary card received upon arrival. However, I must commend the lady who has diligently worked there for 30 years. It would be nice if she were friendly even when not promoting their services. If improvements are not made to the facilities and surroundings, there is no reason for me to return specially after the room switch and no difference in the price.

The place is jaded to say the least. The sash windows in the room didn’t work and were filthy. There was a large pile of dirty laundry left outside the room all night. It really needs a good overhaul and someone checking things are up to standard. Having said that the spa area was great and the treatments were brilliant.

Once again, what can I say, what an amazing place champney's Henlow is on arriving at the magnificent front door and being greeted at reception by Jodie and some of her amazing team, Iris Tegan and Andrew where you instantly feel relaxed and chilled by their welcome and outstanding customer service, I was helped by a very polite young lady who I didn't get her name to my amazing room which was spotless and tastefully furnished with a fantastic patio seating area just outside the French doors overlooking the breathtaking gardens and river bank, it was also lovely to see Siobhan from housekeeping again with her lovely welcome back greeting, on going to dinner and being greeted by the Mo Restaurant manager with his amazing attention to detail and professionalism and his team Particularly, Jackie and Brendon with outstanding customer service delivery throughout all food services with a very good menu selection i also would like to mention Toby and Will in the coffee shop who make fantastic Lattes and the selection of cakes are truly delicious. All in all my visit to Champions Henlow was so relaxing, chilled and with the deliver of good old fashion customer service in a truly breathtaking and amazing building and grounds. Thank you Jodie and the whole team for making my stay truly unforgettable and hoping to see you again very soon, kind regards Lee
