This 53’ shipping container retired from the open waters to nestle in the mountains of WNC. Surrounded by a big, grassy, fenced in yard, this industrial 452 sq ft 2BR/1B invites up to 4 people and pets ($30/pet.) Amenities include a fully stocked kitchen, fast WiFi, streaming TVs, and a fire pit. 5 minutes to DT Hendersonville and 30 minutes to Asheville, the convenient location offers quick access to breweries, hiking, and food. Book with us and make your stay as unique as your travels.The Space:Welcome!Upon your arrival you will see some decorations from some local breweries; there are tackards, glasses, mugs, a dog leash, and some other items that we have collected to provide the space with a brewery theme. While we encourage use of these items on the property—we ask that nothing be taken as a souvenir. The master bedroom has a full sized Tuft and Needle mattress and a large closet. The second room can act as a lounge room or, boasts a comfy sleeper sofa that converts to a queen with a Tuft and Needle topper. If you are going to be using the second bedroom to sleep in, please let us know so we can prepare that room as a bedroom. Each room, and the living room, has a TV with full access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. The bathroom includes a toilet and a stand-up shower. The space is small but the doors open and, with attached door jams, expand the room to include the sink and vanity area. The kitchen includes a refrigerator/freezer, oven/stove, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster oven. The entire space is yours to enjoy and should you need anything, let us know.In addition to this, we are starting to offer our pre-made, mix and match six packs containing cans and bottles from our favorite local breweries between Hendersonville and Asheville. The cost of the six packs are $25/piece. Please let us know if you would be interested in this experience, and we will happily stock your fridge for your arrival. If you are, we would just need a copy of your ID to approve your age, and for you to accept liability for anyone else in your party.Guests have access to the whole house and private yard. The yard contains a fire pit with lounge chairs. Use the fire pit at your own risk and please be careful. There is a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink, should you need it. Be sure to put embers out completely when done (with water, the fire extinguisher is only for emergencies.)Pets are welcome, the fee is a one time $30/pet for up to five nights. If the stay is longer than five nights, there will be an additional $30/pet fee.The guest fee for over two people is $20/person/night. ** Our property experienced a small landslide in front of the cabin during Hurricane Helene. This doesn't affect the cabin at all, but has washed out the front fire pit area. Spend your day relaxing and enjoying the mountain views and sounds of the natural setting or make the short trips to local hiking trails, waterfalls, orchards, vineyards, and the shops and restaurants of Saluda, Flat Rock, and Hendersonville!The SpaceRaven's Roost is a classic mountain cabin perched on a knoll less than 3 miles from main street Saluda, NC. Our family has loved Saluda and the surrounding areas for many years as an "escape" from our busy work lives and a place to enjoy being outside and exploring all of the great places and activities in the WNC region. We had been actively looking at cabins in the region for approximately one year and whenever the cabin we now call Raven's Roost came available, we jumped at the opportunity! One look at the views from the property, and it was a no brainer decision! The pictures definitely don't do the views justice!Raven's Roost boasts a large open living area complete with a modern, updated kitchen and ample space to have the whole family together. Exposed beams and wooden walls complete the cabin feel and updated furnishings lend a modern flair to the rustic space. The front porch is expansive and provides plenty of room for relaxing, soaking up the views, and even having family meals al fresco at the outdoor dining table!The main level bedrooms both boast queen size beds and brand new modern mattresses. There are excellent mountain views from each of these rooms. They both share the hall bathroom on the main floor.The master bedroom and bath are located on the second floor as part of the expansive loft. A king bed with new mattress welcomes you to the space with several reading nooks and another great view of the mountain ranges in the distance. The master bath boasts a double vanity, soaker tub, and walk in shower. Please note that the master sleeping area is open to the rest of the loft area and the main level living room. We have positioned furniture strategically and have a folding screen available to offer as much privacy in this space as possible, but we want everyone to be aware of this set up.In the adjacent loft area is a daybed with a trundle pull out that makes two twin beds for additional accomodations. Combined in this space is an entertainment center and game table complete with checkers and plenty of board games, etc. Downstairs in the gameroom/laundry room are a ping pong table and corn hole boards available to set up as you please. We have fire pits set up in the front and rear of the cabin. The front fire ring is approximately 8 steps down the front slope. The steps are lit with landscape lighting, but can be a bit precarious so please take care! The rear fire pit is just off of the back door from the kitchen and has seating for at least 6 people. A gas grill is provided in the back area as well.Saluda main street is a 5 minute (<3 miles) drive away and features an eclectic mix of restaurants and shops. Flat Rock and Hendersonville are 10-20 minutes away and offer great dining and entertainment options. Asheville, the Biltmore House and the Sierra Nevada brewery are only a 30-40 minute drive away. For the outdoor enthusiasts, there's Green River Adventures on main street Saluda for kayaking/river adventures, the Gorge zipline only minutes away, and loads of hiking and mountain biking trails within a short drive from the cabin.Guest AccessThe paved driveway up to Raven's Roost is steep, but typical of the region and can be intimidating the first several times you navigate it. Guests driving everything from compact cars to minivans have had no issues with getting to and from the cabin. In the winter months, we monitor the driveway for ice and snow and have it cleared for the safety of our guests when needed.Guests will have access to all of the house with the exception of a locked "owner's closet".Other Details to noteWiFi is included in your stay via T Mobile Home internet. We usually have no problems with streaming Netflix, etc and speeds tend to be 10-20 Mbps. Cell phone signal is very good at the cabin as well as mobile data speeds.We recommend bringing your own streaming device and using the provided HDMI access points for both TV's for ease of connecting your own streaming devices, if desired. The TV in the living room is a smart TV with built in apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, etc that you are free to log in to with your own credentials.
