Juliana checked us in and informed us our room had been upgraded to room 12 on the top floor which was very hot due to a warm, sunny day. Only the small bathroom window could be opened for fresh air. We avoided touching the disgusting moldy bedroom window (the shower walls also had mold). Late afternoon we discovered there was no running water in the bathroom. After dinner we notified the front desk and were told that in hot weather it can be difficult to get water to the top floor. We were offered to shower in another room or transfer rooms but by this time it was late and we had unpacked our belongings for a one night stay. Thankfully later that evening water came back on. However, in the morning we determined the shower head was broken. There is a lovely patio at the front overlooking quiet grounds and the water, however, service was very slow to order a drink and only 3 patio tables had shade umbrellas. Dinner in the dining room was very good; although I stipulated I couldn't have any spicy food, the waiter brought a curry appetizer compliments of the chef. Service at dinner was excellent and, therefore, we looked forward to the same quality of food and service at breakfast. Breakfast was a huge disappointment, service incredibly slow to the point guests were tracking down staff to ask to put in their order. Only one menu was provided for your table. There was a continental style buffet you helped yourself to while you waited for your order to arrive. The bread was gone, only a handful of granola remained, only 2 yogurts were in a bowl with ice that had melted, one butter pat on the plate, etc. It was more than 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were waiting for coffee/tea and no apologies given. I inquired if they would be replenishing the food items and was told they would, however, that did not happen. We arrived mid way through the allotted breakfast time so this wasn't a case they were closing in a few minutes. When checking out we mentioned our issue with the shower head and the response as she smiled was "oh I guess we should have told you about that". Considering we paid a premium for this establishment, we would have expected more than 2 bath towels and a bath mat (no hand towels although there was a towel ring); one cookie for two people on the hospitality tray, running water and a room without mold. It appeared they skimped where they could but charge for a room with full amenities. We definitely would not stay here again although the dinner was excellent, parking was free and ample and Juliana was wonderful at check in and dinner. At the time they were replacing the roof so scaffolding was outside your window. However, due to the horrible mold issue, one wouldn't want to stand near the window but rather avoid it. For those with allergies, avoid this room or possibly the establishment itself.
