SEKRA Stadthotel is a new, modern hotel around two miles to the south of Heidenheim station. Buses appeared to head in the direction of the hotel, but I opted to walk. I checked in the old fashioned way rather than the automated version . My room on the first floor was adequate with decent bathroom with shower but no tub. A bottle of water was supplied but neither tea nor coffee was provided in my room, although there was a safe. Breakfast was really good with some different choices such as fried egg (albeit cold) on a bagel with avocado. Some nice cakes and pastries plus a good range of fruit and juices. There was a bar but it was never manned during my stay. You could buy drinks (alcoholic and non) and snacks from a vending machine. However, the beer needed to be opened with a bottle opener which did not appear to be present in the vicinity nor in the guest rooms. I paid €157 for a one night stay. Quite expensive but I presume this was due to the football match at the Voith-Arena.

Nice hotel, family new. Room was small but comfortable. Had a nice little balcony. Had to do an electronic self checkin when I arrived. The front desk is not 24 hour.

Ich hatte das Hotel anlässlich eines Bundesligaspiels von Borussia Dortmund in Heidenheim gebucht. Vom Hotel bis zum Stadion sind es ca. 35 min zu laufen mitten durch einen schönen Laubwald. Das Hotel liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend. Das Zimmer war neu möbiliert, nicht sehr groß, aber sauber und mit dem Wichtigsten ausgestattet. In der Nacht prasselte der Regen auf das schräge Dachfenster, Pech gehabt. Das Frühstück war richtig stark, es gab etliche frisch zubereitete Speisen. Parkplatz und Frühstück waren im Zimmerpreis inkludiert. Leider hatte die Bar am Abend des Spiels geschlossen, so dass es mit dem Siegerbier nichts wurde. Immerhin gibt es einen Automaten mit Getränken.

Wir hatten geschäftlich in Herbrechtingen zu tun und unsere Hotel-Wahl fiel auf das Sekra Stadthotel - nicht zu weit weg und es sah modern und ansprechend aus. Man muss es schon erwähnen, der Check-In ist neu und überraschend, aber es funktioniert einwandfrei. Bei der Ankunft sieht man keinen Menschen, die Tür ist zu und an der Wand hängt ein Automat. Ungewöhnlich, ungewohnt, aber es funktioniert einwandfrei. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit hat man seine Zimmerkarte und kann ins Haus. Zum Hotel selbst: Es ist alles noch neu - super durchdacht, hell, modern, funktional und sehr komfortabel. Da gibt es überhaupt nichts zu mecker. Im Foyer steht ein, wie sollte es auch anders sein, Automat! Dieses Mal für gekühlte Getränke, Knabberzeug und sogar kleinen Gerichten. Wenn man später ankommt ein Segen. Die eigentliche Überraschung dann am nächsten Morgen. Das Frühstück - so etwas habe ich schon lange nicht mehr erleben dürfen. Hier fehlte wirklich nichts, alles war liebevoll angerichtet, man schaute des öfteren nach und füllte auf - Extraklasse!!! Hier würde ich gerne 10 * vergeben. Was für ein Glücksgriff - absolut empfehlenswert
