Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Hazelton/Bruceton Mills

In the past this motel was a rare hidden & affordable lodging secret in the Deep Creek Lake area. No more. STAY AWAY!!! The owners (Wyndam/Microtel) have allowed this property to decay so badly that I NEVER will stay here again. Mold, peeling ceilings & malfunctioning exhaust fans in the bathrooms, stained furniture, lights missing in the hallways, no working ice or soda machines, a malfunctioning lobby bathroom, iffy staffing of the front desk or answering the phone …. you get the picture. It’s really sad. This used to be my “go to” place when visiting the area. Now -- I wouldn’t wish a night at this property on anybody.

As other reviewers have said the furniture was dated, damaged and missing in our rooms, the floor felt damp, the curtains were fulling off the rods, the bathroom floors were dirty/moldy, the landscaping outside the hotel was non-existent, zero curb appeal. Everything was overgrown - plants and weeds, there was trash laying in the parking lot and the trashcans outside the hotel were over-flowing. The lady at the front desk was new and alone and struggling to check people in. I went down and got a bottle of water and a snack and she couldn't figure out how to charge me for that and let me have it free. I went back in the morning to pay and the girl at the counter thanked me for my honesty and told me not to worry about it. BUT, the charge was on the receipt.

Served its purpose for a place to stay. Very friendly staff. Only able to get two large towels. When I asked for more a cleaning lady told me she gave us two already and that was all we could have. We did get an extra wash cloth and later someone brought a few hand towels. Breakfast was fine for us but we aren’t really breakfast eaters. Bagels, toast, waffles and biscuits and gravy. It’s older hotel not seems but clean. Not really close to restaurants. Deep creek is about 30 minute drive.

We've stayed at this location several times. It's been about 5 years since our last stay and it appears as though they haven’t cleaned it in those 5 years. It was almost unrecognizable. The carpet was absolutely filthy. The bathroom floor was dirty. Llnoleum and caulk has separated. The bed skirt was dirty The vent on the air conditioner is disgusting. It was full of dust, dirt and bugs. Overall, we were very disappointed but stayed because we weren't going to be there long. In fact, when we checked in, I told the girl at the front desk that we'd most likely be leaving a day early and I asked if that would be credited back to me. She said that as long as we were out by 12pm. 2 days later, I go to the front desk to check out and asked again about the refund. She seemed totally confused (not the same person I met before) and asked if it was prepaid, which it was. I described the girl who told me I could be credited and her response was "yea, she says a lot of things".

Stayed there for more than a week, Great staff, specially front desk and room services, always willing to help you out. Clean room, clean bathroom breakfast ok., need to change menu once in a while. Good location. Will definitely stay again.

Keep going dobt stop here There were tonail clippings on the floor as well as other things, very obvious it was not vacuumed. Wet rings from cup on table, clearly not cleaned. A large lid to a hygeine product on bathroom floor and under the sink, behind and side of the toilet was thick with dusty things and dirt. Drawers were broken which didnt matter to me much. The mirrors had not been cleaned since it was probably built. The beds were very clean and fresh and thats the only positive about the room. Do better.
