Thankfully the room was clean and recently renovated and the location was great, but those are the only good things I can say. There was a horrible smell coming from the air conditioner. My husband took the grate off the front and saw mold inside. We talked to management, but he was adamant it was just dirty and the air conditioner was set to be replaced. He said that the was the last thing to be replaced in that room. There were no lamps, no clock, no hair dryer, no breakfast as was advertised, The ice bucket didn't have a lid or bag to put inside. We could hear every step of the people above us. The front desk was never staffed; we had to dial zero for assistance. We found that the manager was hanging out in the room across from us. The bathroom ceiling fan was hanging from the ceiling. The lid to the toilet wouldn't open all the way because the screws keeping it in place were put on wrong. A telephone jack was on the wall by the toilet paper holder. I don't understand why it wouldn't have been removed during the renovation. The pool was dirty. Never again.

I like to think that I can roll with disappointment, but the AmeriVU in Hayward, WI was truly dreadful--rhe worst hotel I've stayed in in many, many years. Only half the toilet seat was accessible because the heat register was off its moorings and blocking the bathroom door from opening. The register in the bedroom was crushed and rusting. There was a gap between the exterior wall and the air conditioner, which someone had tried to fix by stuffing a wad of toilet paper into it. The smell of disinfectant was so powerful, my eyes watered and I couldn't breathe (smells don't usually bother me). The manager told me they had no other rooms available and since I had booked through a third party, he couldn't offer a refund. I tried to open the windows to let the smell dissipate, but one window had no screens (this is mosquito country) and the other had holes that once again had been "fixed" with wads of toilet paper Truly, truly an awful experience.

I booked a block of rooms in November 2021 for my daughters wedding in June. I asked for adjoining rooms for at least 1 of my reservations to accommodate a babysitter for my daughters 9 month old. When I got to the hotel I checked on the adjoining rooms and was told there was not one nor was one ever requested. The hotel was full and they did not have a adjoining one. They offered one close. That did not work because the sitter was only 13 and leaving a 13 yr old and 9 month old in a room alone is not safe. We made it work and went and checked in to our very dirty rooms! when entering my room I was hit with a strong smell of old cigarette smoke. The smoke alarm had tape across it. The toilet had a moldy pink ring around the inside of it and to top it off there was someone's old used bar of soap still in the tub with black hair. I could go on about everyone's dirty rooms but I would be typing all day. The door to pool had a lock on it but didn't work, all you need to do is pull the door open and walk in. We had small children with us and it was very un safe and probably illegal. In the pool there were band aids all over the bottom of the pool along with other debris floating. while we were in the pool it was starting to get dark so I picked up the emergency phone to the front desk and ask if there were lights they could turn on because it was dark and the phone was disconnected. Another not so safe thing. 90 percent of the time there was no one at the front desk and I understand short staffing issues but when your hotel is 100% full you need a front desk person. For having blocked rooms you would have thought the pricing would be a little consistent but it was not. Some people in our block paid $250.00 a night to stay in a dirty hotel. I was lucky and only paid $100.00 a night Which was still to much. It is s 3 story hotel with no working elevator. Very disappointed with this hotel and will think twice about staying at AmeriVu Inns.

Do not waste your money on a better deal! This is the filthiest hotel I have ever seen. The front desk woman was MIA. Had to call her on my phone and she showed up looking just as filthy. She claimed she couldn’t find my reservation and attempted to charge my card again! I stopped her because I knew something was off. So I went and sat down to figure out what to do, meanwhile she eavesdropped on my Priceline conversation and got my confirmation number. She insisted I speak to the manager(who was her husband), I told her no, I wouldn’t be staying. She immediately booked my reservation when I left. I came back then and demanded a refund. I spoke to her chauvinist husband that talked over me the whole time. My request was sent through for the cancellation from Priceline, but she said she would not give it to me. I don’t know how this place is legally still able to operate. Very sad!😔

I knew it wasn’t a fancy hotel but couldn’t find another room. The room smelled musty and moldy. The TV didn’t work. Kids upstairs running and jumping. Evidently several people and families live there also. I ended up shutting the air conditioner off and left the gross looking filter at the desk area. The next day I asked the owner or manager about the tv and mentioned the filter. He says that’s the color of the filter! He said he didn’t have new ones! He offered to clean it and said he would go look at the TV. Several hours later I brought my granddaughters back with me so they could swim. I found my room open! I was very upset to think my room had been left open with all my things in! I confronted the manager, who begun yelling at me saying it was only open for five minutes and he had used the restroom in the mean time. The tv still was not fixed nor was the roomed cleaned at 7:30 pm. I said I’ve had nothing but problems since I got here. He said there’s nothing I can do to make me happy so I might as well leave! I said no there’s no where else to go! I said my granddaughters were here! He said I don’t care I have a right to kick you out! I said no way then he threatened to call the police! I went back to the room crying. The manager’s wife came and talked to me. She was very nice. So I thought things were settling down. In the meantime my granddaughters started calling around for other motel rooms in the area. By some miracle they found an another room open that was more expensive but I didn’t even care. I will say the manager gave me a full refund. Although I haven’t checked my bank account yet. I later heard that hotel has a bad reputation in town and that the police have been called their several times for various problems. I also met an elderly woman in the lobby who was unhappy with their service. I don’t feel it is a safe place to stay. You’d be better off in a tent.

Didn’t stay the night we were supposed to. Won’t go back. Called ahead to see if they had a pool & hot tub; we were told they do. However, upon checking in we were told they were closed and not working. Not a pleasant smell walking into hotel. Checked in and went to our room. No heat. Thermostat was hanging by a few wires. Went to front desk and we were given a space heater. While waiting for said space heater we checked for bedbugs. Definite signs of bedbugs. We were out of there! Got to front desk and had to call for someone to come help us check out. We asked for a refund due to all of the above. He appeared shocked that there were any problems at all. We reiterated all of the above (yes, he was the one involved in all of the above.) He very reluctantly gave us a refund.

Bed bugs! Management denies there is an issue and refused to issue any refund. The room also had a strange order but the biggest issue as stated was the bedbugs and the management and staffs lack of professionalism. Stay anywhere else... also besides reading these reviews google the property and your findings will give you plenty of information for reasons to stay somewhere else.

One of the worst places we've ever stayed at. Dirty, pillows like logs, the manager was verbally abusive and rejected any comments about the problems with the room. The room lacked telephone, table lamps, clock, towel bars, closet, carpet, absolutely no art work of any kind - the most stripped down unattractive and uncomfortable place one could imagine. DON'T STAY HERE!!!

Do not recommend. The room was very sparse and dingy, pool and hot tub were not clean. That's probably why they kept the light off in there. We could hear the people above us walking around much of the night. We had a dog barking right outside our door at 3am. The most annoying thing though, was there was no continental breakfast. Nothing, even though they advertise it. I wrote to the manager and never received a response. Very disappointing.
