Went to the Castle for Dinner (not as a resident). We were encouraged initially by the Hotel calling us to say they had supply problems and that the Menu would be curtailed. So good customer service. However, on dining it became clear, that despite the excellent facility and ambiance the staff were not fully trained and the place was a little pretentious and the food overpriced. One expects a markup to cover over heads but £98 for a bottle of wine, which retails at less than £20 is excessive. The food was OK, but not really worth the charges, nor would I class this a "fine dining" as advertised. Pity as a little more attention to detail and a re-look at the pricing structure could make this a really good venue.

Langley Castle is a beautiful building, grounds are stunning. Staff very friendly. First floor bar area is seeped in history with a calming, pleasant environment to have a drink before dinner. Unfortunately the food was just awful. The chips looked like frozen ones with the skin on. The fish was all stodgy batter Fortunately the cheese cake saved the day. Not a good experience. Had considered staying another night, but the food put us off.

A short 2 night stay for us. A short train journey from Newcastle to the nearest station Haydon Bridge turned out to be a bonus for us as the line goes alongside The south Tyne river and the views along the way are a pleasure, Short 2 mile taxi up to the castle from the lovely (and very peaceful) town of Haydon Bridge. Langley Castle itself is a fine place, The pictures elsewhere are all true. We felt the service from all staff was just right for the setting. We were acknowledged and served in an attentive but not overly fussy way. It is a very calm place, there are peacocks mooching around that have neither fear or interest in you. Our room was just outside the castle in a little row of terraced cottages. Very good AC, All clean and well appointed in a style that suited. Our evening meal was the star of the stay. It was all very very good but tastes are subjective so I'll just highlight a couple that were for me exceptional. The amuse bouche was a beetroot based gazpacho with horseradish, it was unexpectedly delicious. The ox cheek/oxtail croquette dish was the finest starter I have ever had anywhere. I can imagine this place appealing very much to someone looking for a truly peaceful and comfortable place from which they can enjoy Northumberland. It is moderately hilly as you would expect, It has a few points of cultural and historical significance very nearby that I won't spoil for you, It is not awash with tourists in the way that you will feel like 'just another tourist'. The Northumbrians are bold, funny and kind and this area is still very Northumbrian. So glad we came.

This place has the wow factor! Driving up the private road, the sight of it takes your breath away! The interior is immaculate. The dining room is very special and you can sit and wait or just relax in the drawing room if you wish. The food is amazing ( but pricey). We stayed in the Castle Lodge which was just a short walk from the castle itself. The bedroom was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was surprisingly modern. We enjoyed the free guided tour, learning about the interesting history of the castle before we left. Overall, quite an experience. We loved it.

We enjoyed 5 nights bed and breakfast here - in one of the castle view rooms. The accommodation was very good - as was breakfast in the castle itself. We also enjoyed 2 dinners in the restaurant, which were delicious. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. It's an ideal location from which to explore the stunning countryside in all directions.

Absolutely superb in every aspect from fantastic service, food, location and atmosphere. Langley Castle is one of my top three of stays in the UK, we had an amazing experience and would not hesitate to return nor recommend to all. The room was comfortable, tastefully decorated, spacious with good facilities, the evening meal and breakfast were cooked to perfection and the staff were constantly on the ball. There is a service charge but the staff truly deserved it, nothing is too much trouble, you can even have a tour of the castle which includes the battlements, highly recommend and is a do not miss

Wanted to stay in a castle and this didn’t disappoint. Splashed out on a room with a four poster bed and a window seat set into the castle wall. Staff very friendly and helpful. Set in lovely grounds.

Located just off the A69 in the wooded grounds of the rolling Northumberland countryside lies this fantastic piece of history that offers a secluded and peaceful environment that is worlds and time away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life. We stayed in a Castle View Room, which is a stones throw from the main Castle Building, and offers a scenic view of the Castle and beautifully landscaped gardens. The adjacent car parking is close to both the Castle and accommodation thus facilitating easy luggage transfer. Check-In was simple where instructions for dinner and breakfast were provided. Our first floor Castle View room was huge and tastefully appointed with period decor. There is complementary Tea, Coffee and Biscuits to enjoy with Sky TV and Free Internet provided. The Bed was comfortably firm and a good night sleep was easy with no disturbances. Service was impeccable and attentive but not overbearing. Kudos to all staff with a special mention to Rachel, James and Lily, who presented her first History Tour around the Castle after breakfast the next day, which was again delicious. Even the Peacocks paid us a visit for the hope of some tastey morsels...no chance... There is plenty of opportunity for local works or just sitting reading a book in the Historic surrounding. The History Tour after breakfast is well worth staying a bit later for. Learn about the history of this iconic Castle and the people who have lived and owned this piece of Englands Heritage. Highly recommend a staycation when visiting the area or just a place to retreat to for a piece of mental relaxation. Thanks Langley, you made our stay memorable and definitely top of our list for a repeat visit...

Came for my wife’s birthday on a one night, dinner, bed & breakfast stay. The Courtyard room was superb with our own terrace (were smokers so ideal) and lovely garden views. Staff were excellent throughout, from reception, the bar, dinner and breakfast the next morning. The place is immaculate, very well kept and a great reflection on the staff who look after it and the guests. The food is exceptional. With two rosettes it is clearly reflected in all the food cooked and presented from Lou be meals to the main event. The lamb at dinner was superb as was the wine list and selection we made. It was truly memorable night and clearly your other guests and the lovely wedding party in the garden room thought so too. We will return, but thank you again for a lovely stay!
