The management of the hotel make a great effort keeping this hotel as a good option for travelers on a budget. I stayed there with my wife and our little daughter, and they gave us a nice bedroom with a recently renovated bathroom. It is conveniently located on the main road close to supermarkets and a nice fish and chip shop.

This is an old pub which has been converted in to hotel accomodation and it is definitely not as bad as some reviewers said. It is not the Ritz Carlton but it served its purpose for us during a drive across New South Wales. We had 2 balcony king rooms which overlooked the street from the shared balcony. They were of good size very comfortable. Young lady at reception helped fix a couple of minor problems for us immediately. There is a very good hotel across the street and the Jolly Jumbuck bistro was excellent.

We booked a balcony room and didn't get one. There is no one at the hotel so if you have any issues, bad luck. On our return stay, we got a balcony room but it's a shared balcony, and we found our balcony table was taken when we arrived. We could have asked them to vacate but easier to go out. When we returned, we were locked out of the building. The sign on the knob asking guests to NOT LOCK OUT other guests was ignored. (Luckily, the back door is kept open). Many of the issues could have been easily resolved if there was an actual person on the site. But you get what you pay for. The accommodation is inexpensive and dog friendly. Just don't expect anyone to answer your phone calls or give you a refund for the room you didn't get. Oh, I forgot, you'll probably have to share glasses, cups, teaspoons etc, as there's no matching of guest numbers with supplied crockery. Lucky it's only a pit stop!

This was a great budget stay. A nice old country hotel with the added bonus that the bar is now closed so a quiet night's sleep. Easy check-in via the lockbox. Everything worked in the room and the shower was large and the water hot. I did not make use of the free breakfast. There are many good accommodation options in Hay and this will be one of my top choices in future.

Central to what I needed. Quiet in spite of road works going on outside. Very clean & warm. Quilts are very cosy. Pet friendly was my priority & this hotel is perfect. Thank you. Lovely friendly staff. My 2nd visit, I would return if in the area as it’s close to everything with good, free parking

I stayed one night during travel from Adelaide to Orange. I couldn’t sleep all night because the air conditioning is so loud and no bedside table between two single beds but the fridge is in between them and just beside my head. The table where the kitchen stuffs were dusty, the kettle and toaster were dirty too.

Property has a great entrance however stairs were pretty dirty which did not give a good impression, rooms were great bit small but bed was comfortable and generally my wife and I were satisfied, breakfast was a bonus we did not expect.
