The Convent Boutique Accommodation

Was told that "Tom's Place " by a Therese that this was the better place of two properties. Don't believe it for a moment. Not maintained at all. Couldn't open the front door. Door coming off its hinges. Floor squeaks everywhere. Not suitable for older people. Steps to deep to enter property. No handrail. Broken smoke detector. Have to step into bath for a shower with no rails. Taps coming away from the walls.No air conditioning in the 2 spare bedrooms. Broken smoke detector. Will not recommend this property to anyone.

Misleading…… we booked a 3 bedroom place at the Convent as we have stayed there before expecting this would be on the Pine St address. This time they changed the address on our arrival day to Tom’s Place? It was soooo disappointing! No wi-fi, floors creaked beyond comprehension, front door falling off the hinge, no wine glasses, only 2 outdoor chairs for a 3 bed house, there were 4 of us, No fans in 2 of the bedrooms, no dustpan, shower not suitable for older persons as you have to climb into a bath and no railing, no hangers. So disappointed that they could rent this out under the Convent Boutique banner.

SUPERB - LOVELY, QUIET LOCATION. VERY CLEAN, WITH LARGE ROOM, KING SIZE BED AND PLENTY OF CHARACTER - THE ROOM WAS AN OLD CHAPEL. AND HAY WELL WORTH A VISIT; IF EVER I MAKE THE ADELAIDE / SYDNEY JOURNEY AGAIN I WILL BE STAYING AT THE CONVENT - AND I WILL ALLOW AT LEAST 1/2 A DAY TO STUDY ALL THE OLD BUILDINGS IN THE MAIN STREET.

Our second stay at this stunning quality accommodation and after a very long drive, a peaceful “haven” (or should it be “heaven”!) before continuing our road trip. A flawless and personalised checkin was much appreciated. The “Woolshed” was spotless - a huge room and bathroom and without any doubt, the most comfortable bed that we encountered over many holidays. The recommended Riverina Hotel provided us with excellent meals before hurrying back to enjoy the comforts of our room. May Geoff continue to offer his wonderful establishment for many more years to come!

We stayed overnight in Tysons room. It was beautiful and very quiet. Dispute our window outlook into the beautiful alfresco dinning of the cafe we did not hear a peep from staff when the opened the cafe in the morning. Beautiful breakfast and just a short stroll to the Main Street on Hay. We would happily stay again. Our room had an ensuite as does the pool room the other two room inside the convent have separate bathrooms which were individually locked and close to each room and would be perfectly fine as well

We just called in here for coffee so can't comment on the accommodation. This cafe is in a lovely old building that presumably used to be a convent (because that's what it is called). I was hoping some history might be written up somewhere but there is no record at all of what surely must be a very interesting story. We had very good coffee served in nice mugs. I had a scone with jam and cream. The jam was a bit disappointing as it was one of those little pre-packed serves - I was hoping for some nice country made jam. I think the cream was from a can. But it was nice. My travelling companion had a toasted sandwich which was pronounced "yummy and really nice, with a generous amount of chicken". The interior has been beautifully decorated with lovely soft blues and white. Suggestion - the cut-out of Whoopie Goldberg dressed in a nun's habit outside the main entrance doesn't really work with the genteel decor. There is a lovely lawn outside which would be lovely on a warm day.
