Great service, super friendly staff, good food, ideal location - what's not to love. Made us feel so welcome and fantastic with our dogs as well. We will be coming back for sure. We stayed in Brown Cow 9 which was a lovely room although a little cramped with 2 black labs in the mix, but we booked the day before so did not have a choice of room - we know for next time! Also, for owners of senior dogs (or those not great with stairs) the rooms on the first floor are accessed via quite a steep set of stairs just to be aware. We are planning on returning later in the year and will book more in advance to get a ground floor room.

Went for a friend's birthday and stayed here a couple of nights. Very new stylish decor so room was lovely. Staff excellent and hard working and the food varied and good value. Great location of course and dog friendly so other guests were good company. Will I come back? Yes of course in the summertime as well.

After several years at alternative local accommodation our group chose the Queens Head for a post New Year 3 night stay and we were all extremely happy with our choice. We stayed in the adjacent Brown Cow cottage rooms which were perfect for us. Beds were comfy, furnishings were practical and there was tea / coffee making facilities. If anything the room was too warm but that was easily resolved after a chat to the management team. Breakfast had varied choices and everything we had was great. All staff were helpful despite having just worked through a very busy festive period. Special mention to Dan who was welcoming from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We stayed with 2 dogs and Dan went out of his way to make sure they, and by default us, were happy.

After sitting and drinking overpriced beer for nearly two hours watching the world go buy, seeing the food menus be placed at the end of the bar we decided to order food. We were then very rudely told that food was only for reserved tables and no you can’t reserve a table. Seemed to be a mixture of lack of staff and a can’t be arsed dealing with you attitude. It seem to me that if you treat your staff like you treat paying customers then it comes as no surprise that they fail to show up and have zero loyalty to your pub. All the local pubs in the area I live treat all the paying customers with respect and go the extra mile to help and accommodate. You seem to feed off the tourist industry and don’t care if they come back or not. As such I for one will never darken you door ever again

Amazing!! The pub, hotel and food where absolutely faultless. The newly refurbished room (2) we stayed in was beautiful, high quality, attention to detail was fantastic. We ate in the pub and the food blew us away. The staff (don’t have everyone’s name, Dan served evening meal and breakfast) were superb. We would highly recommend this pub. If you want luxury and to be made to feel special then this is the place for you. Thanks to the Queens Head staff.

We visited here today for lunch without a booking (2 adults, 2 kids)The staff were very friendly and found us a table. The barman was very knowledgeable about the lagers/beers they had on tap. He even poured me a tasting sample of one of the lagers. The service was very prompt and drink and food came out quickly. All our meals were tasty and good portion size. We will definitely be visiting again

Booked here without really doing any homework on the place ( I normally spend days researching before booking anything). We certainly weren't disappointed. Quirky little pub, accommodation was top notch. Room was spacious, clean and well presented. Ate in the pub for evening meal, menu had plenty of choice. And what we ate was lovely. Breakfast was great too. Staff very welcoming. Would 100% book here again.
