Comfy place to stay
We stay one night. The house is located in a quiet place just a short distance from down town. Bedroom and bath clean and comfortable. Breakfast okay. Good place to stay

A nice small, quaint and personal hotel
A lovely small and personal hotel with large and spacious room/ensuite. Breakfast was disappointing - a churlish waitress, a potato scone but no square sausage (a cooked breakfast in Scotland but not a Scottish cooked breakfast) - better cutlery and crockery would have been more fitting for Balcary House Hotel than the "Diner" style in use.
I would stop here again.

Thanks to Sure & Dave for being wonderful hosts. We enjoyed as a family and will definitely be coming back soon.
We enjoyed the lovely walk, great hot breakfast (Thanks to the chef) with excellent coffee too.
My boys loved their stay at Hawick :)
Special mention about Hospitality staff named ‘Fern’ for her lovely service.

As there was a wedding taking place we couldn’t have a bar meal. Not really an issue as we had a very nice Italian dinner at a restaurant on Hawick

Well what a place. As you drive through the town your expectations are not high. How wrong can you be. Beautiful house and the most welcome host in Sue. Couldn’t have been made more welcome by Sue and her two dogs. We stayed in lodge one. A fair price for a couple and 3 dogs. Hard floors all through. More than enough space. . Didn’t feel cramped. Excellent shower! Gravelled outside, perfect for a long coated dog. Parking straight outside the lodge which in the rain made is easy to unload / load. Secure paddock for exercise (dogs!!!) Any dog show people reading this, perfect place to stay for Border Union or SKC. Good breakfast freshly cooked, again, accommodated the dogs. The only very minor downside was the very bright green light to mark the fire exit. Appreciate why it’s there but it was really bright! And no hand towels only bath. Very minor and inconsequential. Loved this place and will 100% be back. The ultimate dog friendly venue. Thank you Sue.
