Hololani Resort Vacation Rentals

We just stayed at Hololani A404. The condo has stunning ocean views from all rooms! We really enjoyed eating on the Lanai. Watching the whales and turtles right from the condo was awesome. The sunsets were beautiful. The condo was well stocked with all basic needs. The owners were quick to reach out to make sure that our stay was pleasant and everything was OK! We enjoyed the quiet beach that's an easy walk from the condo. Captain Jack's was a yummy restaurant right next to the beach!

Disappointed! The unit (B804) had great views and location, but was very unkept and dirty upon arrival. Garbage under the dresser, food crumbs in the pullout couch, hair in the shower, dust on everything…We stayed 16 nights and barely had enough necessities like garbage bags and toilet paper. If staying that long and paying the high prices there should at least be these basics provided. The hot water barely worked in both showers. Entire unit is very outdated with barely functioning plumbing fixtures and water pressure. Kitchen utensils and supplies were lacking. Everything was very worn and mis-matched. Furniture is old and uncomfortable. Again, we loved the view and were really hoping for a little more from this unit. Owners need to invest some money into improvements and management company needs to better maintain the unit! Elevator broke down 1 evening and had to walk up/down 8 stories. Also, the property manager was very rude to us and threatened to fine us for listening to my phone softly while grilling at 7pm. No warning or explanation… just came out screaming and treating to fine me! She said “can’t you read?”. There was a paper sign on the fence that I would’ve never known about. Totally unacceptable way to treat a guest! Sad to see one of our favorite places to stay fall apart. Next year we will book through someone else and look for a different unit.

We just returned (myself, wife, and 16/13 year old daughters) from a 8-night stay at Honolani A603. Here are listing of pros and cons. Pros. Unit A603 was great. It was clean, everything worked, and came with an amazing view of the ocean. The furniture was super comfortable (both in the unit and on the lanai). It was extremely relaxing just sitting there watch the giant sea turtles swim by. The unit was very spacious for my family of four. We had friends come over for a sunset cocktail, and still felt like we had plenty of space (there were 9 of us total). We had access to a number of beach toys too, which were kept in the garage, making car loading very easy. The pool was nice enough, and the area was very pretty when lit up at night (pool lights and tiki tourches). Cons. The building itself was okay, but certainly not a Hawaiian Paradise. The look of the building gave me lower-mid end vibes. Not awful, but just not awesome. The property was undergoing major repairs, so I am sure that helped detract from the beauty. The property manager seemed anything by warm and fuzzy. Just watching her from afar made me glad to have no reason to interact with her. There were virtually no amenities onsite, with the exception of a small pool, nice looking barbeques, a few deck chairs, and underground parking. (by contrast, our friends staying across the street had tennis, pickleball, gardens, and a game room). The location felt safe but nothing to write home about (with the exception that it is in Maui on the water!). We had reasonable access to the Blow Hole, Kapaula, Napili, and Lahaina. There is no beach access on the property, but plenty within a 5 - 10 minute drive. The airport (OGG) is about an hour away. Wailea is about an hour away. There is a convenience store about 4 walking minutes, but it's priced about 70% more than the supermarket in Napili (so good for something quick, but I wouldn't want to shop there for the week). There's also a coffee shop in the same shopping center was seemed pretty decent (good mix of locals and tourists) There's a nice 2 mile walk (south) into Ka'anapali. You can't walk too far north due to road/bridge construction on the local road. There's a decent enough pool bar/restaurant about a 7 minute walk away (if you're looking for a cocktail with a water view). Not the best, but fine. If you are looking to be wowed by the wonders of Maui (like something out of the movies) check out Wailea. It is beautiful down there, but very expensive. If you are looking for a low key vacation in Maui, where you need a home base, but will be traveling to various parts of the island (by car), Honolani should do the trick. And certainly consider unit A603.

The A801 condo is like a dream! The views are absolutely breathtaking! It is well stocked, and the beds are very comfortable. The location is ideal. This place was outstanding. We loved watching the turtles in the water. Very short drive to all the stuff near Napili and Kaanapali. The construction others talked about is almost done so it didn't bother us. .The managers are extremely responsive! Highly recommend!

Great view, saw Spinner Dolphins and Turtles playing in the water while sitting on the Lanai. Was looking for the first Whale sighting, but unfortunately was still a little too early.
