Horrible experience! I would have rather slept in my car. The oom smelled. No smoke detector. We were given cords to use.

Absolutely disgusting! The hallways smelled like straight throw up. The room smelled like cat urine. The sheets when we got into the room were still damp. The floors hadn’t been vacuumed. Go to the front lobby to ask where the laundry room was, after knocking on the door for 5 minutes finally went to the gym to see if the laundry room was there and the receptionist came out laughing and said it’s on the 4th floor. The breakfast area was disgusting. Would never book here again.

The room was clean for the most part. But the ceiling of the room look as if it was going to cave in at any moment... I would never place anyone in a room that looks like this. The walls surrounding the top of the shower looked warped as well and the paint was cracked. Very mediocre and I was glad that I was only staying one night to get out of there.

Roach! Roach! Roach! I had a medical emergency with my Dad which prompted me to find a hotel after midnight on 6/5. The nicer hotels I had called were booked so I called Wingate which was listed as a 3 star hotel . Skeptical, because I don’t typically stay at hotels less than 4 star, but not having many choices that late at night, I booked a 2 night stay 6/5/2025 - 6/6/2025 at Wingate. I checked in somewhere around 12:30/1:00 the morning of 6/5. During the night of June 5/early morning of June 6, I got up to use the bathroom and there was a roach crawling along the base of the tub! Naturally, I did what anyone would do, I killed it and flushed it down the toilet. I looked around the bathroom to see if there were any more roaches and did not see any. I then looked outside the bathroom where the sink was located to see if there were any roaches crawling on the counter top where my toiletries and toothbrush were laying. I did not see any but I was already anxious about the possibility of more roaches crawling over my personal things and crawling in the bed with me for that matter. I tried to go to sleep but couldn’t fall back asleep. I decided to call the front desk. I told the lady who answered that I realized it was in the middle of the night and I did not expect an exterminator to come but I wanted them to know about the situation. She said she would write a note for the manager/owner and I should talk with him in the morning. When I checked out the next morning, the owner asked me questions like How big was the roach? How many were there? And then he stopped mid sentence of asking did I have any proof. The owner went on to tell me how he had heard there were roaches at the hotel when the previous owner was there but they were not there now. He then told me he would have to INVESTIGATE and he would call me back that day. He did not call me back. I’ve called the hotel twice since the day I checked out on 6/6 and was assured the owner would call me back. It is 6/8 and no one has not called me. 1. 1 Roach is one too many! 2. Big or Small a Roach IS A Roach 3. I don’t have roach(es) at home so why would I pay to stay somewhere with roaches 4. If you tell the customer you are going to do something, follow through and do it. Customer Service 101

The hotel is not as it looks online. The lobby was dirty and the peanut butter and jelly “bar” was definitely not something we wanted to eat. Online it looked much more appealing. Upon checking into our room, the room was updated; however, you can still tell the hotel was an older hotel. There were burn marks on the side of the tub. The bath towel had a long, dark hair on it. The sheets had some hair left on them, as well. The air only has controls for “low cool” and “high cool”, so you can’t really get comfortable. We passed on the breakfast and headed out as soon as we woke up. I would steer clear of this place.

This was our first stay at a Wingate and it was a pleasant experience from the first phone call with Jamie to checkout. The hotel was mostly clean and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and very helpful. We were close to the interstate so there was a bit of road noise but nothing we didn’t sleep through.

Floors were very dirty. Carpet probably hasn’t been cleaned in at least 5 years other than the occasional going over with a cheap vacuum. There was stains in the carpet that were red and one that was yellow that hopefully was from bleach in an attempt to clean the carpet. All in all this hotel is in disparate need of an update.
