Red Lion Inn & Suites Hattiesburg

This is the worse hotel that we have ever been to. The room stunk. The bedspreads were stained. There was garbage on the floor. The shower handle was broken off. There was sketchy people around the hotel. We did not feel safe there at all so we just left. We probably wouldn't gotten a good nights sleep. We should have read the previous reviews before making reservations online. We tried calling the front desk to make reservations several times but no one answered the phone. That should have been our first red flag. The photos are very deceiving.

The lady at the front desk and the location were the only really nice things about this hotel. The lobby is decorated with heavy pillows and curtains, dark bohemian style, and not welcoming. The hallways are dark with dirty carpeting. The room smelled really weird, the carpet was dirty, and I don't even want to know what the stain was on the chair in the room. There was a stain near our pillows on the bed. The bathroom wasn't as dirty as the room, however, so I was okay taking a quick shower. I wore shoes the whole time I was walking around. When I was checking out at 7am, I tried to get a receipt, but the lobby door was locked, it was vacant, and there was a sign to call a phone number if I needed help, but half the numbers were wiped off. "Good thing I didn't need breakfast!" I wasn't going to get it. This place could be so much better with some lighter colors and cleaning. (Very frustrated that Priceline called this a 3 star! Definitely not!)
