Scotsman's Pack Hotel

Staff are helpful and friendly, close to a bus stop, so you can go out for hiking easily. However, if you have a car, it would be more suitable as the village is quite steep, so if you travel by train you it would drain your energy a lot to go to the hotel.

Excellent service, welcome and food. Only downside was an errant fire alarm and the exit sign in the room was exceptionally bright! The outdoor drinking/dining space is very good for Hathersage.

Beautiful pub in a beautiful place. Food was lush! Plenty of choice. Good range of lagers, gins and wine. Excellent service - would thoroughly recommend.

We visited this traditional English pub and received a warm welcome from Mark,Sylvia and George. Great food, good beer and well maintained. Stunning flowers in tubs and hanging baskets, lovely to sit outside beside the stream after a long walk in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for 2 nights as was hiking in the area. I had a lovely little 1 bedroom with on-suite facilities. Room was comfortable, cosy and clean. Perfect for what I needed. I had an evening meal on the Friday. Had the Derbyshire steak which was delicious and very filling. Had the full English breakfast which again was delicious. Staff were all very friendly. Especially the gentleman in the morning, I think his name was Rob. He was a delight. So cheerful, attentive and friendly. I could have chatted to him all day. I had a lovely stay here and would definitely book again. The only issue was the parking. After a long day hiking I could not find a place to park in the very small car park & had to park some way away. Not good for staying guests

We had the pleasure of attending a festive event organised by Bliss, a charity doing an incredible work to raise awareness about the reality of premature births. With just 100 days until Christmas, this event was the perfect way to kick off the season with my family. We were invited to attend with our kids and it truly was fun wearing our Christmas jumpers! We got to try the Christmas menu and sign along to cheerful Christmas carols, and most importantly, our girls got to see Santa! 😀 The staff were so friendly and welcoming, a big thank you to Mark, Sam and their team!
