Peaceful old inn very close to local colleges; easy on off to highway yet secluded enough to feel bucolic. The decor felt very cozy and authentic, windows open if you feel like listening to the sound of the water. Area is walkable with a sidewalk into the rural village if you are looking for a peaceful walk. Breakfast was homemade scones and fruit, as well as homemade coffee cake; yogurt with fruit and granola are also offered. The only downside was the remote checkin. I had issues booking through TripAdvisor and never received any updates about how to check in. Fortunately, I simply showed up and the management had left a handwritten note on an envelope with the key enclosed saying to call if any issues with a local number provided; they wrote that they hadn’t been able to reach me via the third party’s booking info either! I contacted TripAdvisor about this and they said “there must have been a glitch with your app” for the booking not to have shown up on it. I also contacted the innkeeper and they recommended booking directly off their site.

From the warm welcome Deb provided to a fantastic night’s sleep, highly recommend! We had suites 12 (on lowest floor) and 10 (ground floor) I would recommend suites 11 and 12 if you want to be closest to the falls. The owners have done a really nice job with renovations. Be aware this is an old building and ceilings are creaky, so you may want to consider top floor rooms if this is an issue for you. Nice outdoor space to enjoy the falls at multiple tables. Can’t wait to return here and also to eat again at Waxwing Cafe!

Our experience at The Old Mill Inn was simply amazing! We stayed in the Williamsburg Suite which was right beside the waterfall. We had a view from every window. We all slept so well falling asleep to the sound of the waterfall. It was actually the most restful sleep myself, my husband and our adult daughter have had in a long time. The kitchenette was fantastic! The beds were so comfortable, and everything was spotless. Our bedroom had a back door onto the porch with a close-up view of the waterfall. The breakfast was wonderful! Freshly baked breads, muffins and scones. Fruit and other items. We wished we had stayed longer than one night. Highly recommend this inn.

Very Relaxing
Slept with the windows open listening to the water going over the dam, wish we had more time to hang out and explore. We will be back!

I saw the excellent reviews of this inn 2 years ago when I was planning a trip(which fell through), and ever since then I have wanted to stay there. Finally, this year, the stars aligned and we decided to travel here. I went to their website and saw that the highly recommended Williamsburg Suite was available and I immediately booked it. We were in the area visiting relatives and wanted an extra bed for my sister-in-law to stay with us. When we checked in, the innkeeper helped us to make the couch bed for my sister-in-law, and I also bought some local beers from their cafe to put in the fridge. I was able to whip up a family-sized soup in the well-appointed kitchen for all 5 of us. We were lulled to sleep by the falls! For breakfast we made some oatmeal, tea and coffee. The suite was perfect for spending time with the family. My sister-in-law proclaimed that her experience exceeded all expectations and I have to agree. And staying here during fall foliage season made this a memorable classic New England experience!

Back again at our favorite Inn in our favorite room over the falls - the Northampton Room. Love everything about the Inn - the decor, the comfortable bed, great towels and the wonderful staff - Deb, Marsha & Shannon. It’s a real testament that the same staff is there every time we visit. Thank you for my birthday gift! What a nice surprise with the complimentary breakfast on the weekend with great coffee.

The Old Mill Inn was an incredibly quaint, comfortable, and authentic inn with a bed & breakfast level of hospitality. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was so welcoming. While the location feels somewhat remote, it is absolutely worth making it a destination stay.

The hotel is a beautiful, renovated property in Hatfield, Massachusetts, ten minutes north of Northampton. The rooms are lovely and extremely clean. It was self check-in and self check-out, so there wasn't a lot of interaction with staff. A substantial and delicious Continental breakfast was offered to guests with amazing baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. I really liked this hotel and will happily stay here again.
