Wyndham Grand Barbados Sam Lords Castle All Inclusive Resort

Not sure why these people don’t know how to clean, got to my 1 bedroom 2 balcony suite , had other peoples hair in my bed, in my pillows, ALL OVER THE FLOOR. Really nasty, food is sub par , service is lacking. Checkin was horrible

Second stay at this hotel, travelled with family. Service was good even though there was a very large function on at the hotel at the same time. Enjoyed eating at Castle View restaurant the most, service was excellent there and cocktails amazing. Negative experience at the breakfast buffet, waiting over 30 minutes for a piece of gluten free toast! They did not even have a separate toaster in the kitchen to accomodate this request.

By far the best hotel I have stayed in because of the staff! Please recognise the following! Reception - Tanya and Jalissa! Tanya was the first person we spoke to and she was so happy and made us feel like we are at home! She is one of the best receptionists I have ever experienced! Jalissa helped book us a tour around the island and gave us stops to go! She knew Barbados and everything it had to offer and this made our trip even more special! F&B - Leah, Destiny, Jeleah and Anthony! All these people gave us the best service! Everyday we can for breakfast lunch and dinner. They gave us the same table. The knew our drinks order. This made us feel extra special! Anthony went above and beyond everytime I came! Extra props to him! Concierge / Butler - Tyrone ! He felt like my brother here! Speaking about football and Barbados! Gym - Chino! That’s my guy! Every gym session he was helping me lift heavy and gave me tips! Shout out to him! Overall, you can see the staff are so happy to be there and giving every family a special trip! I wish I could mention more people but these guys were the best! Well done to the staff!

Ishama was awesome, welcoming and fun. Good vibes, from dancing, hosting, playing steelpans karaoke was amazing with. Shoutout and Kyle and Keeba. Oistins was a great experience; thank you to all performers and entertainment crew.

Sad to say but this resort was a major let down. Aesthetically the resort looks beautiful but when you take a look at the finer details you realise it is not worth the money at all. Cleanliness The hotel was in fact dirty. We arrived at around 1pm and had to wait a few hours for our room to be ready. When we finally got our room we noticed it had not been cleaned thoroughly at all. The mirrors had smear and dirt marks all over. The floor had not been mopped or swept as there was visible dirt stains and there was a build up of dust in the room. We contacted reception and housekeeping came up. When we shared the details the lady told us the mirror had not been cleaned because she could not reach that far up. Surely you would have a ladder or a stool to ensure that all areas of the room would be clean. The issue was resolved by another clean of the room taking place. Further to this the cleanliness around the resort was below standard. We spotted drinks in lobby areas that were there for days. We even seen some dirty plates outside a room and they stayed there for at least 3 days untouched! Customer Service Customer service was poor. Hotel staff did not smile or look willing to help. They moved so slowly and drinks at meal times took so long to arrive. There was no sense of urgency and approach was often rude. There was one member of staff that stood out from the rest called Anthony. He was always willing to help at meal times and worked very hard to provide a good service. Concierge and front desk always looked miserable and unapproachable. When you did speak to them they were very blunt and did not go the extra mile to resolve any queries or answer questions. I don’t know if it is lack of staff training or understaffing but staff at this resort were not up to the standard you would expect at a 5 star resort. Food The food at the resort was limited but decent. There were 3 options to choose from including one fine dining restaurant. It was hard to enjoy food at the main marketplace buffet when service for drinks was so slow, wobbly tables and empty plates took some time to be removed from the table or if at all. Facilities and Entertainment There are a number of pools in the resort including a kids pool and a pool with a swim up bar. There were plenty of beds to choose from and towels were easily accessible. Entertainment was extremely limited especially in the evening so unless you went off the resort you would find yourself having an early night as there was not much to do. The hotel did provide free shuttles once a week to the beach, Bridgetown and Oistins which was good given the distance of the resort so this saved money on taxis. Overall this hotel is not a five star experience. I have stayed in lovely hotels across the Caribbean and this is by far the worst and I would never recommend to others. Management at the hotel need to invest in some serious staff training and work to shift the bad culture running across a number of department
