The area itself and the lake are very beautiful. We really enjoyed kayaking and canoeing.
However, as other reviews have noted, there are definitely some customer service issues. The main page on the website incorrectly claims that all of the rooms are air conditioned. When we arrived, it was an 85° day, and there was only one working fan in the entire three bedroom cabin. I texted and called the office and the after hours line, but never heard back. My husband ended up going out and spending $80 on two fans. The next day I called again several times before I reached someone, and they to put in a window unit for air-conditioning quickly, but it took a lot of work to get ahold of someone.
The lake is not really swimmable. My children were able to wade in up to their knees, but after that it was filled with thick black seaweed that came all the way to the surface. We ended up going offsite in order to swim.
Many of the amenities on the website were not available. In addition to the air conditioning issue, there were no paddle boards, which were advertised. The website also advertises yoga on the beach, but when I asked the office about it, the woman said she had never heard of it.
This is technically a private lake, but on our last day a group of about 60 middle schoolers arrived on a field trip. Because of the size of the beach and limited amenities, we were unable to use the beach at all.
