Green Man by Chef & Brewer Collection

Stayed here for one night and was pleasantly surprised how nice the place is. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The room was clean and presentable with modern touches. Car parking was available at the back..Breakfast was fine with continental and full English available. Certainly worth a visit.

We are just back from a lovely weekend break at The Green Man - Harlow. The room was very nice and the bed so comfortable. Some very nice touches, different teas, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and chocolate. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was very nice, from full English, Avocado with eggs or bacon on toast, Pancakes and lots more. The evening meals were of a very good standard and good portions, we couldn't fault the restaurant. We will definitely be returning. Our only concern was that we were due to check out of our room by 11am. At 9.30am housekeeping tried to come in without knocking. Luckily we had the security chain on the door, as my husband was in the shower. I opened the door and she said she wanted to clean the room - I told her we weren't ready and we wouldn't be checking out until later.

Went for family lunch on Saturday 7th September. The food was delicious, everyone had a different meal and everyone enjoyed it. There was lots of choice on the menu, with something for each of us. The staff were very friendly and careful with allergies. The service was impeccable - I would especially like to commend Sadie who looked after our table and made sure our drinks order and food came in good time. She really went the extra mile to look after us all.

Nice hotel stayed here once 20 years ago. Staff very nice, garden lovely to sit outside in. Thought bedroom far too dark, yellow lights not ideal ! Have to have lights on all day. Apart from that, would definitely stay again on our way to Europe as we are from Australia.

My husband and I used to stay at the Green Man regularly about 12 years ago when we were first dating, and we revisited about 5 years ago. This weekend we went back with our 2 year old. Since it’s become a Chef & Brewer it’s really come on in leaps and bounds - last time we thought it was getting very tired and was in need of a makeover, which is exactly what it’s had. The rooms are lovely with very stylish decor, the reception is now in the same building as the rooms instead of in the pub, and the staff are very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. We’re so glad it’s gone this way instead of so many hotels which just go downhill and end up closed. Well done Chef & Brewer!

This is a lovely place to stay - the rooms are clean and decorated and furnished to a high standard. The beds are super-comfortable too. We stayed here for three days and found the staff so friendly, and the food at the pub is excellent. We had dinner on Friday night and a Sunday roast, which was delicious. All in all, great value and if I was in the area again, would definitely stay here.

I arrived to a warm welcome from Emily and colleagues who kindly offered me a ground floor room after noticing I was struggling with a back problem and using crutches. The room was large and the bed comfy. The restaurant staff were also very well trained and polite. I would recommend The Green Man Hotel to anyone looking to stay in the Old Harlow area.

Easy to find, plenty of parking, friendly and welcoming check in. Room was modern and had chocolates and biscuits, along with tea, coffee etc. Room seemed larger than normal, plenty of space. No AC but fan provided along with iron and hair dryer. Modern and very clean bathroom with fresh fluffy white towels. Bed was so comfortable!

We spent 2 nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. From booking in to departing everyone was amiable, attentive and seemed to want to make sure you were well looked after and always with a smile. We left feeling we had made new friends. Its just recently been fully refurbished and you can tell they are proud of the place and want you to enjoy your stay. Comfy beds, spotless bathroom and towels, carpeting and Wi-Fi throughout, all made the stay so comfortable. Considering you are just north of London prices were not exorbitant at all and you feel you are staying out in the country. The breakfast was big and freshly cooked to order with a good choice. (Wife had the smaller option and it was more than enough for her) As was our 2 evening meals, cooked as requested and plenty on your plate to satisfy. Great service and attention but not overbearing at all. They also have a daily specials board. When going south from now on this will defiantly be our only place to stay. Everyone was great but have to give a special mention to Sydney who seems to just about live there!! she is so dedicated to her job and nothing is a problem. Deserves too go far with the Chef & Brewer group. Not forgetting our other friends we made, Emily, Zoe and Sophia who looked after us directly with their wonderful friendly personalities. Watch out girls we will definitely be back to check out the specials board. The lamp was wonderful and light as the chef said. ;＞) Looking forward to seeing you all again in the future. Dave & Brenda
