The best word I found to describe Pages Hotel and Guesthouse is "quirky"; let me explain. The hotel does not feel like a hotel but more like a house of multiple occupancy (HMO), albeit very short-term occupancy. Why do I think this? There were no reception staff, indeed, no reception at all, and we received our check-in instructions by text message (after phoning the number on the sign). Our room was not accessed from the hotel but via the car park, so we never felt connected to the hotel (which is nice if you want privacy, I suppose). The continental breakfast was actually a self-service tea/coffee, cereal & toast provision, and the self-service extended to doing your own dishes. The good and bad points of our stay My wife would have loved the temperature of the room as it was very warm The shower was warm and powerful but the hot water took a long time to get hot (probably due to a long pipe run) Some of windows in our room did not close properly and other parts of the hotel showed signs of needing some maintenance The car park may not have enough spaces for guests as our car was blocked in (and remained so until after 08:00) I can see this hotel working perfectly if you have a very early flight, and the ability to get your own breakfast would be very welcome, where in other hotels you would be starting the day hungry. This scenario did not describe our stay, so for that reason, I will not be a repeat customer. If the owner is still reading this, I have some suggestions: Fix the plugs in the sinks: when shaving I needed to leave the hot tap running so I had water in the sink; the kitchen sink plug was missing, again resulting in a running tap. Move the smoking facility more than two feet away from the door as there was a residual tobacco smell in the room
