This is an old, decrepit building that must have been glorious in its heydey. If you're easygoing, it still can be a great place to stay. Despite the wear and tear and antenna-only TV, my room was clean with a balcony view over Africa Unity park. The fellows at the front desk and in the breakfast could not have been nicer, and I was thrilled by the full English breakfast the latter rustled up, included. If you want to be on the heart of the CBD, this is vastly more affordable than your big hotel options. Short walk to Eastgate Shopping and National Art Gallery.
