This is a great motel in Hanmer, we would definitely recommend and come back if we were returning. The hosts were friendly, the rooms were spacious, clean and had all we needed. A great location in easy walking distance to everything you need.

Excellent motel, handy to shops and the hot pools (they even provide loan towels) but on a quiet side street, away from main road traffic. Friendly and helpful hosts, rooms are spacious and have all the facilities needed. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be our first choice when next visiting Hamner Springs.

The hosts were very helpful with an early check in request and a last minute modification to our booking which was much appreciated. The room was clean and tidy and well equipped for our stay. Communication was prompt and clear.

Hanmer Springs is great for a weekend outing. it offers all kinds of trails and cool views, and the hot springs are sheer fun. Spending most of the time outdoors all you need is a nice motel for the night and that's what it is. Clean, comfortable and conveniently located for a decent price. Definitely recommended.

We came and stayed here for 2 nights for my birthday weekend. Lovely clean warm rooms with sky tv. We had a spa bath in our room and some lovely mountain views, I was just hoping it was gonna snow. Bed had an electric blanket on it, and room had kettle, toaster, tea coffee and everything you would need to cook a small meal not that we did. We would stay here again ☺️

Wonderful experience staying at the Alpine Garden Motel! The location is absolutely perfect! Two minutes away from the hot springs, great restaurants and cafes, a grocery store, and cute hiking trails. The service was top notch. You can tell that the place is run with a lot of love and attention to detail. Would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Hanmer Springs.

My stay at the motel was from 27/06/2023 to 29/06/2023. I used the online booking system and had no problems making the booking. The price of the unit was reasonable and the proprietors' willingness to apply the Super Gold card rates was very much appreciated. A comprehensive information booklet was available on the coffee table. The unit I stayed in was clean, tidy, fresh, comfortable and warm. Warmth being particularly important for the time of year (New Zealand winter) and the location being alpine. Heating was supplied via electric heaters of which there were two and more than adequate to warm the unit up and maintain that warmth. A full stove was available for cooking. There was a good supply of plates, cutlery etc. I am making an assumption here, but there appears to have been considerable renovation work been done and continues to be done to bring the motel to a suitable standard. The carpet appears to be new as is the paint work. I stayed two nights and the room was serviced on the second day. The bed was queen sized, comfortable and there was plenty of blankets available should it have gotten cold during the night as it can do in Hanmer. Of course there was an electric blanket available too. The situation of the motel is private and quiet. Outside areas were clean and tidy with a nice outlook to the mountains. There was a picnic table available for outside dining and the only thing I can say, there would probably be a need for another one during summer months. All in all I can recommend this motel. The best accolade I can give it is, it will be our first preference when booking a motel in Hanmer Springs.
