The Newstead Belmont Resort & Spa property is beautiful and very picturesque. My husband & I shared a one-bedroom suite equipped with a full kitchen, microwave, stove top, dish washer, dining table and chairs, 2 baths and spa like main bathroom. It had a built-in refrigerator, and a stand-alone full-size refrigerator. Luckily the second refrigerator was in working condition. We had panoramic views of the water in both the living room & bedroom that was adjacent to Hamilton. The hotel also offered a free ferry into Hamilton that ran in the mornings, and again after 5pm. The spa offered massages, and I took advantage of the 50-minute Swedish massage. It was very enjoyable but very pricey. Their restaurant called the Aurora offered good food, but they restrict paying guests from utilizing the restaurant when special events were setup. We were not allowed to utilize the restaurant on two occasions, during our stay. That needs to change if they want to remain competitive. Paying guest should always have access to the on-site restaurant. The hotel also does not have a gift shop. It did have a snack closet, so you could get water, juice, and a few snacks. There is a fitness center, but with all the stairs in this resort, you probably won't need to use any of the fitness equipment. The front desk clerks were not very accommodating or eager to share details that would enhance your vacation. A few of the front desk clerks were nice, but a couple were not very friendly nor eager to please. One in particular advised us to take a bus to the Royal Navy Dockyard, when there was a ferry that operated daily for only $5 dollars, after taking their free ferry into Hamilton. The ferry to the Dockyard took only 20 minutes and trips were available all day every day. The hotel didn't offer tours of the island, but they recommend their special taxis for tours. Unfortunately, the hotel's choice was at a higher rate. We decided to engage a regular taxi to give us our tour of the island for $50 dollars an hour, while the hotel engaged taxis that charge $65 dollars an hour, both with a three-hour minimum. Our taxi gave us a great tour and we shared a meal with great conversation. Our main bathroom had a little mildew in the ceiling, and one morning I awoke to find a roach on the countertop. We killed and flushed it, and then advised the front desk to engage an exterminator. Someone was sent to spray the room immediately, so it was handled properly. The shower handle also came off in my husband's hands, while trying to start the shower. Luckily it went back into place without incident. The shower tub was so slick we both almost fell in the tub. We had to request a shower mat. We had to use a towel to get in and out of the tub, until they furnished a bathmat. The pool & jacuzzi were beautiful, but the jacuzzi jets were broken. We had to ask someone to turn on the jets every time we used the jacuzzi. There were also missing tiles in the j
