We had a very enjoyable one night stay at this hotel and would certainly go back. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. We had an excellent evening meal, which was very reasonably priced and there was plenty of choice for vegetarians/vegans. The breakfast was also very good. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The secure bike storage was a bonus, especially when I was allowed to charge my e-bike for no extra cost.

Restaurant gives impression of fine dining but more like McDonalds, fast food, can't wait to get rid! No pause between courses.

Good location and good breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Nathan. We stayed in a standard twin room which was not in the main building. It was cheaply furnished and uncomfortable. Mattresses not great, one bed frame creaked every time you moved. Sofa was small, hard, creaky and very uncomfortable. Wobbly table one side of it, nothing on the other. Toilet didn’t flush properly. You could hear everything through the walls from neighbouring rooms. For the price you pay you would expect better quality and more comfort.

A lovely relaxed hotel with great food in big portions and a splendid choice on offer at breakfast. The family suite we stayed in was spacious and airy, a few doors along from the main hotel building, and all the staff were welcoming and helpful.

This is a very old building, refurbished on a shoe string budget. Service very friendly and they try really hard. The food at dinner was very bland and uninspired, worse than the average pub fare in the UK. Breakfast was ok. This hotel was booked for us by Celtic Trails as part of a ‘plus’ package where you supposedly stay at superior lodging. Not my idea of luxury accommodation.

Amazing portions and quality for the price! The Sunday dinner was great, came with half a chicken, which was loads, and there was both cauliflower cheese and leaks and cheese. Friendly Waitress and no problems. Also a great selection of food on the menu.

Had a 3 course meal here on Saturday evening, service pleasant with a warm smile and food was excellent. Plenty of house special starters to choose from, Steak cooked to perfection and the home made ice cream is to die for. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for visiting Vindolanda and Hadrien's Wall.
The breakfast was excellent and evening meals were also good. I hope to return here.
