Hotel am Turm

Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was a disappointment. We had booked an overnight stay as a surprise for the bride and groom to make their wedding night extra special. Four days before the stay, I called again to make sure everything went smoothly. We were given an access code over the phone that would allow us to enter the hotel at night via the side entrance. However, when we arrived with the bride and groom at 3 a.m., there was no way to enter the code - no display, no way to enter it. After several unsuccessful calls to the cell phone number provided, we finally succeeded after about 10 minutes and the owner answered the phone. He asked us in an annoyed manner whether we could see a display and then finally came down himself to open the door and turn on the power. Only then did the display appear and the code could be entered. It was an annoying experience: it was cold and the bride and groom had to wait outside for an unnecessarily long time in their wedding outfits. The owner simply said that an employee had turned off the power, which are mistakes that can happen. Unfortunately, there was no apology whatsoever. He didn't even think it was necessary to congratulate the bride and groom!!!! I can't recommend this hotel and won't book it again.

Nice town with hotel a stone's throw from the center and a few km from a reservoir with a beach. The food had a good price/quality ratio. The room was clean, spacious and decent. The bathroom is a bit on the small side. What struck us most positively was the personal approach of the employees/owners. Never pushy but genuinely interested and service-oriented. The latter in particular is a relief compared to the large hotel chains. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again.
