This is a wonderful warm, welcoming pub and restaurant with rooms. We have stayed there previously, and it was our first choice for our visit to East Sussex again. The bar is comfortable, cosy, and a pleasure to relax in; all supported by the fabulous landlady Emma. Plus my favourite cider! We stayed for two nights in a more than adequate bedroom. By this, I mean it's not large but has everything you need, including coffee, tea biscuits, as well as toiletries in the shower room - the shower being the easiest I've ever used! We had a real pub dinner on Saturday evening - scampi and cod - fresh and beautifully cooked by Emma's partner, Gary. Although there is so much: look at the website. Breakfast likewise was delicious. So, all in all, a great stay! We'll be back!!!

Ver warm welcome by Emma, you pay when you check in , which wasn’t a problem. Room was on first floor, going up the stairs they have paintings by local artists for sale! The room itself was clean, bed lovely and comfortable, we had the room at the back so was very quiet. You got the usual tea, coffee and added bonus small pack of biscuits and small bottle of water. The en-suite was also very clean and toiletries were provided. Continental breakfast was included but for an extra charge there was a small selection of cooked breakfast. Can highly recommend the full English, everything cooked exactly as I like it and reasonably priced. It’s about 15/20 minutes from Lewis by car, where there’s a good selection of shops and restaurants. The pub also does food in the evenings, small selection of good quality pub food . There is a car park at side of pub.There’s also a shop in the pub , good in case you’ve forgotten anything! This place is one of the friendliest places I’ve stayed in , made to feel extremely welcome by Emma and Gary !

some good points but..... Lots of good things about this place - wifi is secure. There are usb ports in the power sockets. Crisp white bedding. A comfy chair - but you can't see the tv from its position. Room itself ok but the bathroom let it down. No shelf to put anything and although the toilet and very small sink are clean the shower tray desperately needs replacing and the shower surround, skirting boards and around the door need a deep clean. Inclusive breakfast is limited (though cooked breakfast available at an additional cost)

2 night stay for a running event Booked this charming local pub accommodation as it was close to our event. The place was small and cousy with a real old pub feel. Very friendly and accommodating owner/publican. We even got a breakfast bag in the morning due to an early start. Highly recommended. PS food was excellent 👌 Will definitely be staying again next year. Conrad and Leanne
