The website mentioned continental breakfast. First morning pub closed called contact telephone number owner was on holiday ! would get someone to call back. Caller advised a brown paper bag would be outside our room in 15 minutes. Bag arrived contained stale croissants and Pan o chocolate. 1 jam portion no butter, orange juice tasted of chemicals. We stayed from Monday to Friday and provided with the same brown bag for breakfast each morning. No apology for not opening bar area for breakfast. We were told we would get a bag each morning Pub menu very poor all choices came with chips apart from curry and pasta.

Over £90 and the room is substandard, dirty and unkempt. The wallpaper is peeling off, there are holes in the wall, the water pressure is weak, other guests’ hair left in the shower, stains on the bedding. Disgusted and disappointed. This was not worth what we paid.

Visited the Blacksmith Arms for the first time since Emma and Gary have taken the reins. The food was fabulous, potions generous and service was always with a smile by the lovely Chelsea. Highly recommended the smothered Chicken...delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and very welcoming. Range of beers and ales superb. Will definitely be visiting again and again.

Fabulous couple of nights spent here. A lot of care has been taken by the new owners (end of 2022 I understand) in styling and equipping the rooms, which are comfortable with good showers. The food is excellent, good home cooked classic food, prepared and served really well. Very difficult to fault and at very fair prices. Good to have a continental breakfast included but with a very reasonably priced cooked menu available too. Very dog friendly, with the dogs welcome throughout. Owners and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, and efficient. Overall a great stay and I would be back there instantly if I need to be in the area.

We had a fantastic weekend at this hotel. Lovely and clean room, very well stocked. Very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to help with anything that was asked of them. Staff very knowledgeable of the area. Food was fantastic and very reasonable priced. Would definitely return and will definitely recommend to anyone going to the area Thank you Emma and her partner

Fabulous Sunday Lunch. We have been twice now and both times it has been absolutely delicious and HUGE! Highly recommend it and a lovely cosy pub as well. Friendly staff and we will most definitely return for the quiz and a main meal as well as we would like to try a pudding!

Stop at the pub for a spot of lunch. They had on the menu sausage and mash with vegetables but as we were vegetarian, I got up and asked if they had this meal in a veggie and the young lady behind the bar told me to wait a min and she went away and came back and yes we could do that for you. How good was that. It was bloody delicious.

Emma and Gary were such friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts; they and Emma's daughter Chelsea made me feel very welcome. I had a really comfortable stay in a newly refurbished room. Also a very thoughtful pack-up breakfast as I had to be away early on one of the mornings. My dinner in the pub was generous and fitted the bill exactly. I hope to return again!
