Booked and paid for this hotel on wowcher for an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast, Myself and my friend arrived to check in and we were greeted by a extremely rude man who asked us “what do you want? We are shut”!! He wouldn’t let us in the building and left us outside in the rain While he went to speak to another member of staff, The manager sent a staff member Outside to us who told us he wasn’t inclined to refund our money and there was nothing they could do about it, they had 3 security men in the doorway which was very daunting. The hotel will not respond to any of my emails and I am still waiting on a refund, was very frustrating as we had to then find other accommodation and fund it. DO. NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

I ordered a gift voucher,two night stay, for my daughter and son in law for LAST Christmas. They tried to book a stay in the New Year but the Hotel was closed down with various reasons given, all very worrying! They were unable to book at any time. I requested a refund. I have requested my money back. I have spoken to so many different people at this establishment I’ve lost count!,, I have emailed,again lost count of how many times!! I was eventually told my money would be returned. 13 months later I’m still Waiting!! I’m a widow, loosing this money has really upset me. I can’t believe they treat customers like this!!!🤔

I was thinking about staying at the Wool Merchant Hotel, although the reviews were a bit off putting. Thought I'd give it a go and form my own opinion. Staff were friendly, room was clean and value for what I paid. However in the morning there was no hot water to the bath, sink or shower. Reception was unmanned at 7 am when I went down to report and find out what the problem was! Disappointing, and I wouldnt recommend I
