An incredibly spacious room and bathroom, with a delightful deck and the most glorious views of the bay! Very well equipped kitchen and everything extremely clean and tidy. Warm and cosy and very quiet! Enjoyed a visit from a kea on our deck one afternoon and the sunsets were amazing! Helpful hosts and just a short walk from all Oban amenities.

It is a great location near the town and has lovely views of the area. Lots of bird life right outside your balcony. The owners were so helpful and provided a shuttle service to airport depot and ferry. Very friendly, helpful service. Laundry is a bit pricey, but so is electricity on the island. Clean, comfortable rooms. Lots of space. Great BBQ area outside. Looking forward to our next stay there! Best place to stay in Oban by all accounts.

Wir haben hier 3 Nächte verbracht. Wir sind mit dem Flugzeug abgereist und wurden im Dorf abgeholt und auch zum Abflug wieder hingebracht. Hat alles geklappt. Zimmer hatte alles, was man brauchte,großes Badezimmer mit Whirlpool Wanne. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, Oban ist eine tolle kleine Stadt, Stewart Island eine Reise wert.

The Bay Motel provided an excellent experience when I visited Stewart Island in October. The innkeeper picked me up at the ferry in the evening and not only drove me to the hotel but also provided a lot of solid information on what to see and do while on the island. He also drove me back to the morning ferry when I left later in the week. The room was clean and comfortable; the kitchenette very functional; and the views of the harbor spectacular. In addition, the motel is very close to the trailhead for the Fuchsia Track, an easy and enjoyable way to experience birds and native plants. I would return to the Bay Motel any time!

Very enjoyable with lovely views across Oban. Nice bird sounds in the mornings. Our host very kindly picked us up from the Stewart Island wharf and dropped us back at the conclusion of our stay. It is a few hundred meters into town, which I managed to do even with my walking stick. The motel is tidy, clean and well maintained.

We paid $440 for 2 nights in The Bay Motel. No major complaints but the place was a bit "tired". It had the typical uncomfortable motel couches which you sink into and a strange no cooking bacon rule for the kitchen. We were surprised to see our deck continue right around the building which gave me a feeling of insecurity. Otherwise our stay was ok. We had heard that Kaka sit on the deck railings and saw that as a huge drawcard as we love birds, but they were very scarce until one single bird finally visited us in the evening. A shame you are not allowed to feed them as that would be a wonderful attraction.

Bij aankomst in de haven werden we opgehaald door de eigenaren van het motel. Het is een fijn motel met uitzicht op het dorpje; centrale living met bedden is niet super groot maar is net voldoende. Heel ruime badkamer, zelfs te ruim :) Klein balkon. Heel rustige locatie en 5 minuten lopen naar het dorpje met voorzieningen en haven. Het dorpje heeft een restaurant in het oudste hotel van Stewart Island. Het was een hele ervaring om 2 dagen op Stewart Island te mogen verblijven. Heerlijk basic!
