A somewhat older hotel but still with a good amount of charm. The check in went easily, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. The only thing was that the parking did not pick up our plate so we had to manually sort it at the hotel, not that that is the hotel's fault. The room was slightly small perhaps but not extremely so. Spacious enough and the bathroom was as well. The hotel seemed clean and a little more rustic than the average. The breakfast was a bit more limited than I'm used to, but there were at least enough sitting places. And a coffee machine you could use whenever you wanted in the lobby. A totally fine stay in the city, and centrally located within walking distance to most everything you'd want.

Nice hotel situated by the sea. Very friendly staff in reception and restaurant. My room was spacious and quiet so I slept well. Breakfast had a variety of choice and was well organized. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was good, simple menu but ok.

The positives here are the location and the friendly staff. The big negative is the bar which becomes a local hangout at night. We stayed on a Saturday night, and were kept awake by the noise from the bar, and the patrons who gathered on the sidewalk outside, directly below our room, making lots of noise late into the night. We arrived after midnight from a wedding, and there were many drunk people filtering into the lobby, which was off-putting given that we were traveling with a child, and was not a setting we wanted to bring her into. The room was sparsely if adequately furnished, the decor is lacking, the bathroom feels institutional. There were external blinds on the windows, which are necessary due to morning sun. These did not appear to be controlled from within the room. We had a suite, and they were down in the bedroom, but not the living room where my daughter slept, so by 8 am her room was a greenhouse, too warm and uncomfortable. The breakfast was fine, nothing special. The setting by the water is nice. All in all it felt overpriced for what it was. The hotel needs to decide if they want to run a nightspot or a hotel, as the two are not compatible.

First time in my life out of my boring Germany first time in my life in a plane and first time in my life in a Hotel. And everything was so amazing Service Room Breakfast and so nice and friendly Personality. And the 🍒 of the cake 🍰 was I meet my Norwegian Idol and most famous Singer Andreas Haukeland (TIX) he sleeps in the same Hotel. More luck is impossible. Halden is a small nice town 90 minutes with Train to Oslo or maybe you can drive to Gothenburg Sweden. So quite and peaceful you can walk hours at the Fjord for sure I come back again.

Bad wifi. Found bugs in the room. Staff was friendly and breakfast was good. Food at the restaurant was good, but it was expensive. Location is very good in central Halden. The hotel does not have guest parking and the nearby recommend parking is expensive.

Took us 40 minutes and 3 rooms to finish check in. First room was already occupied, second one had single beds(!) The room was very small and quite shabby, and was not properly cleaned. The bathroom was really really worn out and had a distinguished smell in it. We will not choose again or recommend this hotel to anyone, despite it’s superb location.

Location is perfect. But the room was not cleaned. Found dirt under the sheet and got a rash on my body during the night. It looks like cleaning routines are not good in this hotel. There were also other guests complaining about cleaning when it was time to check out. But good wiew from the room. And good breakfast
